i do it to the way i know it but occasionally i put the pizza boxes in forgetting that i'm not supposed to .

My sister was living at a house in darwin and they got a warning on their rubbish bins because there was some plastic you couldn't recycle can't remember which ones but there is only a few numbers that you can recycle so i doubt anyone does it 100% properly

I never rinse or take staples out but no rubbish ever goes into our recycling bin

We only have maybe 1 rubbish bin bag a week (sometimes 2, depending on what we have been doing) as we also have a compost bin

I had no idea you were meant to rinse things! However DP is very very strict on recycling things go in the right bit and if something that cant be recycled goes in the recycling bin then he goes and fetches it out! HE gets cross if I put recycling in the normal bin too.

Ive heard the lids are supposed to be taken off the bottles/containers. NO idea why. Just something I heard on a tv show once, showing a recycling centre.
The staples arent in pizza boxes

The lids are made out of a different plastic to the bottles and aren't recycleable so thats why you have to remove them.

I remove lids and rinse things out i don't go so far as to remove tape/ staples though.

ahh anyway lids off..oops I put the lids back on coz dd likes to play in the recycling and I don't make sure the bottles are dry so she would be tipping water everywhere..hmm can anyone confirm this?

I did not know about not bottle lids and pizza boxes. So until NOW I did not recycle 100% properly. I do rinse all bottles jars. My bin is almost always full by the end of the 2 weeks an sometimes even overfull.

Number 2, but I'm so confused about pizza boxes now because our recycling bin says yes and rubbish bin says no

I answered option 2. However I have to admit, not all of our recyclables make it to the recycle bin, they sometimes end up in the garbage because I can't be bothered to wash them
