    Default Nappy free time?

Hi there, we had to take our 11 month old DS to a paed this morning because we noticed his boy bits were quite red and a little sore as he jumps and squirms when we wipe him. The paed said it looked like there was no infection but could be a reaction to something (not sure what as nothing has changed..besides the point though!) and has said to use sorbelene cream and lots of nappy free time. Sooo this might be a silly question but how do we go about this when he is only 11 months old and pees/poos whenever? How much nappy free time would you do at a time? So sorry if theyre dumb questions Im fine with having to clean up after him but thought I would see if there were any awesome suggestions out there TIA!

    Default Nappy free time?

Do nappy free time just after a poo to minimize the risk! If it's a warm day, maybe out on the lawn? Or even play with him at nappy change time while he's lying on a towel or change table. Sorry that's all I've got!

    Default Nappy free time?

I've done nappy free time with all of mine from newborns pretty much everyday. We don't have carpet though so a mess is easily fixed. It has also helped with TT because they are more aware of it earlier.

We've got carpet so with my ds I used a picnic rug on the lounge room floor so that the wee didn't go everywhere. For my dd we bought huge foam squares as a big mat to go under her playpen (a big 2.2m wide playpen) and so she has nappy free time in there - usually before bed. I take nearly all the toys out, leaving a few plastic rings and put her in there. She thinks it's fantastic. Usually one or more of us is in there with her and she crawls around at super fast pace chasing us and giggling. She's too busy playing to wee. If she's in there in her own she is more likely to just stand up at the edge of the playpen and wee ... but it's no big deal (unless she's just had a shower and then it's a bit annoying ...but I usually time it to be just before a shower or bath anyway).

My dd is a lot easier to manage for nappy free time than my ds ever was. My dd hasn't wee-ed during a nappy change or done a poo at that time since before 3 months of age. I know my ds was doing wee & poo during nappy changes until well past the age of 1.

I give my 5m old nappy free time in the sun everyday, have never had a rash. I just put a towel down, when they are older let them crawl/walk outside without pants. They love to be free.

Thanks so the tips everyone, I too wasnt sure how to do free nappy time with DD. Everytime I do she wee's on the floor! Good thing is she hasn't poo'd on the floor yet. But I can't seem to time it right!

    Default Nappy free time?

We love nappy free time here, if he does something I just clean it up, no big deal.

But he has poo'd on the floor twice - once, I was busy cooking and didn't notice till he started screaming....he'd tried to eat it. Not cool!
