I use Gumtree all the time - Love It! It is owned by Ebay (go figure).

I use it to find tenants for our investment properties, to find staff for our cafe, and I bought my 2 bunnies via it. My experience of it has been very very very good!

*just to add: I also found our 'dog nanny' on Gumtree, she looks after our dogs when we are away.

    Default Is Gumtree any good?

I just sold all my baby items on gumtree.

First time I'd ever used it & have found it fantastic!

    Default Is Gumtree any good?

I've only used it once & got burned so I'll stick to eBay now where i feel all cosy & warm LOL

I bought a pram (strider plus) drove 2 hrs to pick it up as it was about $50 less than the ones close to me. I emailed the seller and asked if there were any rips or stains. She assured me there wasnt.

Went to pick it up and had a very quick look over of it, it looked ok and they were standing there telling me about it so I wasn't paying 100% attention (my fault)

Got it home and set it up in my kitchen & then it hit me - it stunk like cigarette smoke!! I couldn't believe it and was too shy to contact the seller. I then noticed it had small rips in about 5 places and at least 5-10 stains on it

So I guess it wasn't just Gumtree - it could have happened on eBay but after that experience I'm too scared to try again! Be careful & check everything out!

I've used gumtree to buy my pet ferrets and found a cheap car detailer on there. He wasn't really good though- i got a good clean rather then a detail but in the end i think he only charged me about $50 so it wasn't too bad.

We've sold a load of stuff on there. Never had a problem. I always meet the people that are coming to view in the garage and exchange only for cash.

We also found our LOVELY cleaning lady throug Gumtree.
