    Default Generic Pill brands

DH filled my pill repeat script for me on Saturday. I was on Yasmine & he came home with Isabelle.

I realise this is the generic brand of the Yasmine but I've had a dull headache since yesterday. I'm wondering if it's related to the change in pill or if it's just coincidence.

Has anyone else experienced any side effects from switching brands?

    TIA

I was on yasmin for quite a while. I never had an option for generic so it must have been very recently released. So in that case it could be very likely a side effect from the new pill you should contact your pharmacist and ask if anyone else has had issues with the new generic pill yet

Yes, I've had issues with generic pills versus original. With other medicines I'm fine using generics but with the pill they are known to Cause different side effects in some people. (that info comes from my gp and several pharmacists)

Yes, I have had issues with generic brands.
From sever leg cramps to breakthrough bleeding.
Yes they might have the same active ingredient but from my understanding the binders are usually different and can effect how your body absorbs the active ingredient(s).

I would call the pharmacy at which your Dh filled the script in and tell them what you have told us.
Or just go see your GP.
Most of the time the pharmacy will fight until their last breath to tell you the generic brand is exactly the same and won't do anything different to your body.
But if you are having side effects then change back to the yasmine.

My best friend has a true lactose allergy.
She was on a pill with no lactose (was even written on her script that she ha a lactose allergy) when she filled the script she agreed to the generic brand thinking it was exactly the same.
After 2 days she was quite sick and it came back to the generic pill having lactose in it.

Thank you ladies. I will definitely let the pharmacist know as I still have this dull headache today.

I'm thinking DH should just go and get the snippety snip so I don't have to worry!
