Smile What are your 'child friendly' swear words?

I'm just curious - what do you say instead of the usual four-letter words when you want to swear in front of your kids?

Me, I usually start to say "Shiiiii....ugar!" when I hurt myself. Or I'll use a foreign swear word (which won't be great once my kids are old enough to realise). Or if I want to say something insulting about someone I'll call them a numpty or a nuggethead or a nuff-nuff (dunno why those all start with N though!). Pretty hardcore, huh?

    Anyone else?

[This is assuming most of us try not to swear in front of our kids!]

I dont get the difference between real swear words and child friendly ones, they are basically both expressing emotions..

Does that mean you don't swear? I agree that it is just expressing emotions. What do you say when you're angry/hurt/frustrated/etc, though?

Honestly, yeah it's the same, but I would much prefer DS to say 'far out Brussel sprout' than the f word

yeah i know its the same but i think that a child saying shoot is more socially accepted then a child going to the playcentre saying **** ever time they fall over etc.

No..I just tend to use real swear words, whats the difference between saying sugar and ****? I don't get why if your unable to contain your emotions you'd bother making up pretend words
