My dating scan was done at 11+3 apparently. It doesn't line up with my dates by about 3 weeks. I discussed it with my Dr and he said not to panic as bub will come when ready and that its not unusual for a late scan to be off. He also said that second trimester can sometimes give a more accurate date

Thanks for all your replies. I guess there is always room for error.
    To make it clear:

    Lmp dates due 25 march
My charting dates due 31 march
    scan dates due 5 april

I guess the biggest thing that doesn't make sense is that I got a positive preg test 7 days after the scan says I ovulated. This isn't 7 days after implantation, this is 7 days after ovulation/fertilisation. That seems pretty unlikely.

My concern is that if I go overdue and don't realise coz of dates are incorrect, and have a large baby who gets stuck like I have previously. I also want to know dates so I can correctly book in for 12 week nuchal scan.

I got a pos home test at 8 DPO with DS, 9 DPO with dd2 and 10DPO with dd1. All on first response tests. This pregnancy I got a BFP at about 10 DPO as well. So it is possible to get an early result after ovulation
