    Default Would you be annoyed?

    Totally hypothetical but:

If you were getting married and your fiancé chose a best man/maid of honour who you knew hated you, would you be angry they were still going to have them?

Aww, wow, it would be very uncomfortable that's for sure. And why would they want to be in the wedding of someone they disliked so much?

Me too. DP and I are arguing about it. She says it doesn't matter as the friend is there for them, not you. I say I don't want someone who hates me standing next to the person I want to marry.

We are never getting married so thankfully it's not an issue...I'd rather not get married than have her in our bridal party honestly!

    Okay, it's not completely hypothetical

    Hehe

This is a case where yep, sorry, he'd have to choose. Yes your best man or bridesmaid is there for them and not you, but your groom/bride is meant to be there to marry YOU and surely they want you to have a memorable wedding, and memorable in a good way, not memorable because you felt uncomfortable spending the 'best day of your life' with someone who hates you.

Id say that people in the wedding party had better be 100% behind the union or they have no business being there.

    Precisely my point!!!

I got a little stumped because DP was saying she would have been maid of honour for her sister even though she hated the groom but I guess the difference is groom didn't know she hated him and she wasn't the bride or groom.

Id not get married over having bish face there. I'm actually annoyed that DP is speaking to her again.
