    Default EBM & Travel

What are my options for travel with EBM for my dd? I need to travel interstate and then the next morning I will be leaving my dd for 7 hours and that's too long for her to go without a feed. And I'll be doing it again the next day too.

I will be traveling for at least 6 hours (including a flight) so I'm not at all confident about keeping the EBM fully frozen ... but any hints on this would be very appreciated. I suppose that would be my ideal ... taking EBM & keeping it frozen.

I've done a fair bit of travel 2 hours from home and taking EBM with me, but I take an Esky and put it in a good fridge/freezer when I get there. And if the EBM goes down with me and then comes back I feel anxious about using it in case it has defrosted a bit and then been refrozen and I don't feel confident about it at all.

My dd does go 5 hours without a feed and did manage 6 hours today, but 7+ hours is just going to be too much. I'm reluctant to offer formula and she'll only be just 11 months old so normal milk isn't going to work either.

So, will you be able to put the EBM in a fridge when you get there?
I would take it frozen, wrapped up with freezer packs in a little esky and then put it in a fridge when you arrive. It should continue to defrost overnight and just need a bit of a warm up in warm water before being used. The milk for the next day should be fine if it stays in the fridge another night.
