Default over trying to lose weight....trying for #2 now!

    Hiya girls,

Well as the title said I'm over trying to lose weight from my PCOS to be a healthy weight and try for number 2. My DD is almost 3 1/2 and have been trying to lose it since she was born.

My wonderful DH is that clucky i swear he has a pair of ovaries himself! If I wait too much longer I think i'll change my mind. I always wanted a smaller age gap between kids and it took 2 yrs to fall the first time.

So we decided on the weekend bugger it and just go for it. I'm just wondering how long should i wait to see a specialist to get back on clomid? Do I need clomid again...what are the chances of falling naturally?

    Grrr being fat sux

Hi, I have PCOS and am very overweight. I was actually put on Metformin to help with the PCOS and weight as I had insulin resistance and very rare periods. After a while my periods went back to normal and over a year I lost 15kgs. I am finally 6 weeks pregnant with my first baby and I swear it was Metformin and my diet that helped. I found the only way to lose weight was to reduce a lot of carbs/sugar. And for the first time in my life, the weight actually stayed off.

Do you have regular periods? The doc should be able to test to see if you are ovulating and then you would know whether you need Clomid or not.

I didn't end up needing it because the weight loss was enough but I was pretty close to needing it except my Specialist wouldn't put me on it until my BMI was under 40, and I was quite a way off. Luckily, it worked naturally!

    Good Luck!!!

    Thanks for the reply girls,

I was previously on diabex and had one round of clomid when we fell pregnant with our first.I'm not sure if the clomid worked as when we had our bloods done they said i didn't ovulate then 2 weeks later had another test and they found out i was pregnant. I'm 3kg heavier than what i was when i fell pregnant. Still over weight though. I spoke to my doc a few months ago and he put me back on diabex but increased it to 1000mg in the morning and 500mg at night but i couldn't stop vomiting so i came of it.

I'm just finding it really hard to lose the weight as i train with a trainer 2x week and then walk and weight train the other 4 days.

I guess i was just excited to start trying again but am over everyone's opinion of my weight....hubby is really good about it.

Default over trying to lose weight....trying for #2 now!

    Hi girls,
It seems I'm also in a similar situation... I have PCOS, I'm really overweight, taking 1500 metformin and TTC.
I had such a fantasy plan to loose the weight and then try... So I procrastinated for months... That turned into years. Truth be told, the longer I gave myself before I felt I was ready/ deserving to be TTC the more weight I put on!
I was so afraid that everyone; My family, friends, GP and FS would "tsk tsk" and suggest I should get the weight off... but no one has said anything. In fact my GP told me it's better I try younger than thiner! Because if I wait, I could end up heavier and older!

    Hi girls,

thanks for all the replies. Ms Jo I hear ya on having expectations of trying to lose weight before trying to get pregnant. I have tried almost everything and have now given up and we have decided to just go for it. I had no problems other than falling pregnant first time. She may have taken 2 yrs to get but other than morning sickness and miagraines i had a good pregnancy....no miscarriage, gestational diabetes or high blood pressure which i was told i would get...hmmm doctors aren't always right.

So we didn't fall this month and i have bitten the bullet , rang our old FS up and have an appt next month. Lets see what she has to say this time round. Looks like going back on clomid again.
