Default Did Maxolon/metoclopramide cause my son's penis to be small?

I posted over in Morning Sickness forum but thought I might get more replies here. My son is 8 months old and the doctor noticed his penis is quite a lot smaller than average, although not "micro". I took Maxolon from weeks 10-18 of pregnancy. I am now really scared this had something to do with my son's issue as I have read it can lower testosterone levels in men. I'd like to hear from anyone else who took this specific drug in pregnancy and has a son. Please tell me how long you took the drug for, which weeks of pregnancy and if your son has the same issue or not? I don't want to sound like a crazy person....just got myself all worried and guilty about having taken a drug that could have harmed my boy. I am sure it is unlikely, but I'd appreciate some feedback.

i took it throughout my first trimester from 6.5 weeks until 16 weeks. 3 a day, and my ds is fine. have you had a second opinion? maybe from a peaditritian? babies don't really have big penis's anyway, what would he consider small?

I took maxalon on and off (as it didn't work much for me) from week 5 to week 24 when my m/s stopped. My son's penis is normal. I wasn't aware there was any links like that. I would say it's just your boy and he will probably fill out as he gets older.

I don't think testosterone is directly linked to penis size at all. I think you're fretting over something completely unlinked.

I couldn't read and not reply.

My daughter has a congential birth defect and I went through a similar process. I felt sure I must have done something to cause it, and that thought made me feel AWFUL. It literally made me feel sick.

Please, please, please stop beating yourself up about this! Even if the maxalon caused this (and that is a big if), you acted in good faith, and took it under your doctor's care.

    This is not your fault.

Sometimes these things just happen and you may never know why.

Be kind to yourself sweetie and enjoy your perfect little boy.

I took maxalon with my son...from 6 weeks until 12 weeks (approx). His p.enis appears to be larger than the average so it has had no effect on his penis size.

Thanks Wastingtime. Did you take the full 3x per day dose?

BB13 I took maxalon from day 1 until I was about 38 weeks with my first & his penis is normal, if not a bit bigger than normal.

With DS2 I didn't need it all & he is smaller than his brother. There are so many other factors at play with things like this. And a small one can expand quite adequately too.

Hi, I didnt take Maxalon so I cant answer, but I did want to ask if he is on Soy formula by any chance as I have heard that Soy products can retard male genitalia growth..... Might be something else for you to look into if you are a soy person.
