Default What OCD things do you do that are really annoying?

I have to go to the toilet right before we leave the house or I go to bed. Even if I have just been 5 minutes ago. Its not unusual for me to go to the toilet, remember I need to do something small (like brush my hair) and then I have to go to the toilet again before I can get into bed or leave the house.
I actually think it comes from growing up bing told to always go to the toilet before we left the house and before bed.

OMG my DH does this and it annoys the bejeebers out of me! I hold out a piece of chocolate to him and he has to smell it. Why?? It's not like it's going to smell like anything other than chocolate!

Well, with chocolate that's obvious. To make sure it isn't poo, of course.

Ha, this thread made me laugh

    I have a few:

    - Volume needs to be on a number thats a multiple of 5 i.e - 15, 20, 25
    - I HAVE to eat tic tacs, smarties and m&ms in multiples of 5 and by colour!
    - I will check and recheck the hair straighter is off 5 times before leaving the house
    - toilet paper has to go over the roll not under
    - pillows must have the opening of the case pointing away from the edge of the bed

    i think that's it hehehe

Funny, I need the pillow case openings to face the same direction ... i.e. both open to the right or the left, not both out or inwards.

I think its the Nurse in me because in hospitals ect you aren't allowed to have the opening facing the door as it is 'messy'

Each row of washing on my line has to have the same colour and kind of pegs. Drives me mental if they don't!
Dining and coffee tables must be free of all clutter. I can't stand it when they have stuff piled on them!
I buy fruit in odd numbers. Actually, I buy everything in odd numbers!
When I use cardio equipment at the gym, I always set it to odd numbers. For some reason I can run at 10.3, but not 10.2.

Thanks to dp, everything must be in fours! (I can settle for twos, but he goes insane it its not in fours. And that's anything - kissing, knocking on a door, how many smarties(etc) he will eat at a time, his bored tapping when I'm taking too long to get ready, you get the point).

Things have to be as I put them! (The cupboards in the kitchen mostly, the fridge I can deal with).

I have to smell cups before I will pour my drink in them.

At my dads there are certain tiles that I HAVE to walk on EVERY TIME D: and walking downstairs there are certain stairs I have to stand on in a certain place. Also the arch into his hallway I always had to hit the top as I walked through (except he's ripped it out now D: )

My clothes on the line have to have the same colour pegs. It used to be that all of them had to have the same colour, but the homeless man who keeps coming round and taking my thrown out fruit takes our pegs too so I have to settle for the one item of clothing having the same colour.
