    Hi all,
    Cheals so sorry for your news;
    Romy fantastic all going well!
    Lissy Lou Lou I can see your emoticons on my phone. Hang in there girl!

    afm; follicles growing faster than expected so just got iui insemination today at Greenwich. Got intralipid on Wednesday at Hurstville - what a drama! Had to bring Saturday appointment forward, kept missing gwyneths calls and she didn't return them . so I called Hurstville directly and got drm's schedule from them, packed my bags and just got on the bus anyway. She called when i was on the way there to say i had to be at Hurstville in 1.5 hours. Got there just in time but wouldn't have made it if waited politely for her call!

    So am now souped up with sperm for the 2 week wait!

    Cross fingers and truckloads of baby dust to all!

    Cheals I'm soooo sorry, its never easy to hear that...
    Can I ask if you used intralipids or IVIG with this treatment?

    Romy see you on Sunday - I might be there after 2 as I'm doing the Million Dollar paws walk in the morning...can't wait to see if you've got your bump on

    Hi everyone, i hope you dont mind me joining this thread. I have alot of questions about high NK cells & auto immune problems causing miscarriage. Does anyone know what blood tests you get done to check for immune problems as a possible cause for miscarriage? And also what is the name of the blood test to check for high natural killer cells? Do other tests have to come back abnormal before they check for high natural killer cells?

    Can a GP do these blood tests or does a FS have to do them? Are they covered by Medicare or is there a fee? Do all FS check to rule out possible immune system problems?

    What symptoms did you have before you found out you have an immune problem or high natural killer cells?

    Sorry for so many questions! Thanks in advance for your help

    Hi Hummingbird, welcome to the thread. You will find lots of useful information on here. There is a good book that a lot of us have, called 'is your body baby friendly' written by Dr Beer. It goes into great detail explaining the immunological causes of failed pregnancies/implantation failures. It also helps with understanding and interpreting the various tests you get done. Also, have a look at the link that B123 posted above, it is very informative. As for the testing, some people on this thread have been able to have their issues identified by having tests run in Australia only, for which I believe there is a Medicare rebate for most of them but others have had to have the full immune panel of tests done by having blood drawn in Australia and then sent to Chicago for testing, there is no rebate for this and together with freight costs apx $2000. I plan on claiming this as out of pocket medical expenses on my tax return. Be prepared that most fertility specialists do not believe or want to admit that immune issues could be causing pregnancy problems and many of us have had our FS try and talk us out of getting the testing done. Most people get to this stage through their own research and insistence. One of the NK tests is done via uterine biopsy and all of the other tests are blood tests, unless you need a laparoscopy etc which is done under a GA. A lot of us are seeing Dr Matthias who is a Sydney based reproductive immunologist. He doesn't do IVF but rather determines what testing to do and then works out the best treatment protocol for you based on your results. He also does phone consultations if you do not live in Sydney, however you can not get a Medicare rebate with this. All the best, I hope you find your much needed answers and have a sticky pregnancy soon
