Helenmac. I'm sorry you've reached the end of your journey but glad you seem to be at peace with your decision to stop. Thanks for all the info you've provided to me and so many others in this thread.

    Hey girls,
Just a quick whinge, saw my fertility specialist today to review my recent failed IVF cycle and mentioned doctor Matthias. FS wasnt in to the idea of Dr M and now I am even more confused as I felt like Dr M could hold the answer and now I'm not so sure. FS said he is happy to up the pred to 20mg, use clexane and continue with intralipids so I guess I'm wondering if this is is just what DR M would do anyway except prbably higher still pred and possibly IVIg which I think we probably cant afford anyway. I still would want the America testing done to get the answers but is that money better spent elsewhere? I am still heading towards getting an opinion from Dr M, I guess the phone consult cant hurt at least but am feeling very unsure of myself. No need to reply, just wanted a vent
    Hope everyone else is well.

Hi sandy in my experience most FS will not be keen on Dr M or other doctors protocols.. I've learnt many dont believe in immunology and many are so ego driven that they only recommend what they offer/sell.
It sounds like ur FS is open which is good.. Dr m generally prescribes 40 mg pred and clexane 40 plus other drugs for some ppl....
.it doesn't hurt to have the testing done and go from there...
Remember it's your body and your desire to have a baby... Your doctor is only one party... Ultimately u choose what you do with your body
    Good luck!!

Sandy1 I only just told my fs that I saw Dr M and I don't think she was very impressed either - she was asking me want Dr Ms success rates etc and I was like well yours aren't so crash hot either - I've had 5 stims, 7/8 transfers and a big fat O BFP with you!!!! Sometimes I wonder if IVF is a bit of a money making scheme which is pray in my heart it's not - ie: the average amount of stim cycles before you get a BFP is 3 etc, that's not including fETs etc..... At least your fs is following Dr Ms protocol!!! That's gotta say something - good luck and my rant is over - lol (breathe - I'm blaming my stim hormones

Sandy1- I chose to be upfront with my FS about seeking treatment with Dr M and he basically said I was wasting time and money, he didn't like the drugs he prescribed etc. no FS wants to admit they're out of ideas or someone could do it better than them. Even at 7 wks when FS did my viability scan I asked FS "can you look at that heartbeat and tell me I wasted my time seeking immune treatment?" - no response, no admissions that Dr M may have helped. 6 transfers with FS and nothing to show, one with dr m and bub arrives in 6 wks! That speaks volumes, I was so disappointed that FS wouldn't even think that immune treatment played a part. My thank you card and birth announcement will be going to Dr M, not FS!!!
From what lots of ladies have reported, their FS's are all anti Dr M. I'd go ahead at least with the phone consult and see what he suggests.

Crofty- how is your cycle going?

Romy- how far are you now?

    Hi everyone else
