Glad you found us! I thank the info I gained on this thread for leading me to dr Matthias.

To answer a couple of your questions:
I got pregnant on my first cycle with Dr M's immune protocol. It was my 7th transfer. The first 3 were bfn. 4 & 5 were chemicals - FS had me on a 5 day course of dexamethasone but with my NK cells (that I only suspected at that stage) it wasn't enough. Dr M had me on steroids until about 27 wks. Transfer 6 was a bfn. Sought immune treatment from dr m. Diagnosed with very high NK cells in blood and slightly elevated in uterus. Now 31wks pregnant which I never ever thought would happen. Bub is due 5 years to the day since we started TTC
I had intralipid rather than IVIG. Lots cheaper but I think just not effective for some women.
I think after your phone consult you don't really need to see dr m unless he needs to do a biopsy. I believe there is somewhere in Brisbane that will do intralipids according to his protocol. Someone recently posted about it. He can certainly send your BT requests and prescriptions via mail.

I would definitely recommend a consult with dr m. He has helped so many ladies on here who thought they'd exhausted their options with their FS. don't know much about dr sacks. Good luck!
    HI Bella,

Congratulations on your BFP!!! So exciting! Can you tell me what your blood NK levels were?

I took some extra time off work and thankfully it settled down after a few nights of temazepam and now I have a meditation for fertility to listen to at 4am when I wake up and I really recommend it. befertile.com.au

Thanks for the warm welcomes everyone and I'll be with you guys helen, crofty, cheals and lissy during the cycle. I just had the embryo transfer today and trying to rest up and get my head around the 2ww until the blood test.
Thinking sticky thoughts for you all
Good luck with your cycle Greta!!!

    Hi All,

    Hope everyone is doing well!

Welcome to all newbies and hello to the oldies (hehehe)

Sandy1: I used Dr Sacks through IVF Aust after changing to him from another specialist who didnt believe NKcells played a part in IVF failures...He was the first to test me for them did bloods and a hysteroscopy. Results came back extremely high in both blood and uterine.
I was around 21.9% in bloods and 50/mm2 in uterine not sure what that is in % but notes said (extremely high)
My fourth IVF cycle was with him got around 6 embryos to blast and was put on his Bondi protocol which started off with around 25 mg of prednisolone, 20mg of cleaxane and 200mg of pessaries 2 x per day. Transferred 2 embies and got to 5 weeks then chemical, did FET after that upped Prednisolone to 35mg and another chemical then last FET upped Prednisolone to 40mg and BFN. Had seen Dr M for an official consultation & did more bloods though him during this phase and decided if last FET was a failure I would do one more round of IVF (5th cycle) and try Dr Ms protocol.
So after the last FET BFN waited a few months, did hysteroscopy with Dr M which confirmed Nk activity and helped him plan my treatment protocol then went back to Dr S for next IVF cycle - he highly recommended PGD array which was an additional $3500 on top of IVF cycle...In the end me and DH decided to put everything in as this was going to be our last cycle, we had endured 5 years of ups and downs and had come to the decision that if didnt happen for us we would/could learn to accept that...So did a fresh cycle through Dr S with PGD (ended up with 5 perfectly tested blasts) plus we followed Dr Ms protocol of: Intralipid before transfer (4 days for me as my EC & ET was brought forward due to my body responding so well to meds),15mg of dexametheson (started this 21 days before ET) which I upped to 25mg after transfer, 40mg cleaxane and 400 mg pessaries x 2 per day.
We transferred two hatching blasts - if you read earlier on I didnt think it had worked as I did start bleeding before my scheduled BT and my first BT came back @ 39 HCG....so was told not viable...went back a few days later HCG had risen and a few more dramas also followed this & earlier posts from me tell it all but here I am nearly 14 weeks pregnant...I have now had intralipids every month and will continue to do so until probably 24 weeks...So I am am a strong believer that the intralipids helped & after all my failed attempts on the wrong protocols we finally found the one that worked for us! First time on it and here we are due in Oct....

All the best to those who are now cycling and Helen on your 2ww!
Looking forward to hearing some more positive news and seeing those BFPs!

    Hi Ladies,

Sadly I think that it's a BFN for me. I did a HPT yesterday and it was negative and today I'm getting strong AF pains so think that AF will be here by tomorrow (my DH's birthday). Right now I'm angry and disappointed that this journey has defeated me cause BOY did I try my best!!!! This will be the end of the road for us so there is an enormous sense of relief that I don't have to endure anymore heartache related to IVF. We are truly blessed to have our son and will just have to get a puppy to add to our family.

    Hi Helen,

sorry to hear the HPT wasn't good and the AF symptoms started, but you never know. I was reading Kiwi's post and the rollercoaster of results she had early on, and you just never know it might turn out differently. Try not to loose faith just yet

    Hi kiwi77
Great to hear all is going well, I'm so happy for you.....I'm at nearly at week 14 too. Has Dr M reduced your medication yet? I have reduced to 30mcg prednisolone (from 35), no more progynova, 400 x 2 pessaries, clexane the same - 40. I'll be at the hospital next on May 19, when are you in next.
    Take care
