Thanks for your welcomes ladies, Im incredibly sad to be here, but pleased to see so much support, and success stories.

I've just freaked myself out by reading Dr Beers book. Anyone else find this really overwhelming? Im now convinced we need IvIG therapy. Anyone from Canberra on this thread? Anyone now if you can have this therapy to treat NK cells in Canberra?

Fx and love to all of you.

    I hear you Jaandaw...

This whole journey is and has been overwhelming, but you just have to stay positive and believe there is light at the end of it all, I myself was thankful I had an answer as to why I wasn't staying pregnant & why it was taking soooo long as most I knew were falling preg by at least their second/third go where as me I was 4 tries in and I knew there must be something else. I did my own research & thought it must be my immune system so I changed specialists and saw Dr S at IVF Aust & then Dr M who is a Obstetrician & Gyno but specialises in NK & immune issues & they confirmed it so at least I had my answer...then it was just getting the right treatment plan for my levels of NK. Most of us on this thread range in the high mark so Intralipids & IVIG have been our answer & we have had some awesome success!
Both of you stay strong & just keep asking and questioning what you want, it will be all worth it in the end!

You have to stay positive & we have all had our bad days too believe me!
I am 8 weeks today! Still very early stages and I am taking it week by week but it's taken me 5 long years & 8 transfers to get here...4 chemical pregnancies & 3 BFN but on my 8th go with Dr Ms treatment plus PGD I got here...It still doesnt feel real but I am soooo over the moon! We had decided it was going to be our last cycle, I got 5 perfectly tested PGD Array embeies, we put 2 in this time, one stuck & we have 3 frozen which is great as I am not going through another fresh cycle again. After this lil one is born we will probably wait 1 year or so & do FET, ideally we would love 3 or 4 but I just feel so blessed to get this one we have in board!
How long hav you guys been trying?

Oh wow Kiwi, well done and congrats and how excellent having those perfect frosties for siblings! Xxx, very happy for you.

We did our first egg pick up in April 2012, so we're just newbies comparatively! At that point in time we were not aware of any fertility issues, as we were only doing IVF as we're a same sex couple using unknown donor sperm. My DP was 33, (FS kept telling us so young in IVF world), and we had this false sense of security being "young", fit healthy. After our first stim where DP responded perfectly, (physically, mentally's another story!!!), and got 6 perfect blasts from the pick up our FS said, "You WILL get your baby from this haul, in fact you'll get your whole family!".

Since then we've had three transfers, all BFN He wanted to jump straight to NK cells treatment at that point, but we moved FS, (for a number of reasons), and have just had the test, and just found out that yes, DP has elevated NK cells.

Big scary news given our false confidence.

So DP is turning 35 this year, and while we've still got 2 frosties left we've decided to stim again to freeze some 34year old eggs for our journey with the realization of NK cells. Stimming in May now, (have been on a break since August 2012 for financial reasons), with the pred and clexane. Frantically trying to find out other treatment/testing options to give us the best chance in May as financially we're struggling. DP and I have both started the immune diet and supplements discussed in Beer's book. DP is also booked in for massage and acupuncture all April.

Keep us updated with your exciting and deserved BFP, hopefully you'll bring us all luck! Xxx

A big hello to all the newbies

I have been reading along but laying abit low, I am 9 weeks but have had a couple more bleeds which has been a bit scary but had my first obstetrician appt yesterday so it is all starting to feel real

My little bub had grown over a cm in a week and great to see that little heartbeat flickering away. My ob wanted all my results from Dr Matthias so let's hope Gwyneth can find them! He also seemed to think that the clexane could be linked to my bleeds and wants me to see a haematologist to work out if I really need to be on it. It is actually now getting a bit confusing with blood tests to do for Dr M and ones for my ob, but I do think I wouldn't be here without Dr M.

Sorry no personals today - but when is your final BT Romy???

    Hi ladies.
Hope you are all good.. Glad to hear things are going well for you kiwi and scruffy. And a big welcome to everyone new on here. These ladies are wonderful and very helpful and supportive. Wishing you the best for your journeys ahead.
Romy, I have my fingers crossed for you and hope you are enjoying your time away.
AFM, I have received my biopsy results a couple of days ago and they were good. Dr M only found very minor NK cells and an imbalance in a mthfr gene. I will be starting Dr M's medication tomorrow and will begin a fresh cycle in the next few weeks. It's all starting again!

Hope you all have a great week

    Hi Ladies,
Helen - IVIG has no effect on driving - nurse confirmed it and also the IVIG leaflet. Apologies for not asking Dr M but he was very busy delivering babies.

We have had a hard morning. Only 2 mature eggs at collection yesterday and only one fertilised this morning with ICSI. So I am having a day 2 transfer of one lonely and very young embryo tomorrow. I feel gutted but then there is always hope as slim a chance as it is.

    Take care everyone, FG
