Congratulations Kiwi - I checked in on your results late last night on my phone! I was thrilled and very, very relieved.

Have fun with Scruffy for your infusion - you both will have lots to talk about.

    Hi ladies

Ive been reading this thread for about 6 months, gatheringas much information as I could about nk cells. About 18 months ago I bought DrBeer’s book and felt like i was reading the story of my life! Reading thisthread has helped me come to terms with my losses and realising im not the onlyone. Its also nice to see there has been some success here and gives me hopefor the future. Ill try not to make this to long but heres my story:

I had a trouble free pregnancy in 2007 and gave birth to myfirst daughter. We began trying again in2008 and I fell pregnant on the 4 month of TTC. At my 16 week check up there was no heartbeat, the baby had passed aweek earlier. Tests were run on the placental tissue and all results came backnormal. Doctors told me to tryagain. 10 weeks later I fell pregnantagain, another trouble free preganancy and gave birth to my second daughter in2010.

In 2011 we started trying again and I fell within a fewmonths, at 7 weeks along I was rushed into surgery to have my ruputured tube removed due to an ectopic. 6 weeks later I fell pregnant again, only to lose this pregnancy at 14 weeks along.
This is when I read Dr Beers book and knew in my heart I had an immune problem. I was too naive to ask the doctors about it. I thought if it was the problem they would check for it.... they didnt.

For the next 6 months we tried conceiving with no luck, finally in June 2012 we fell pregnant again, only to miscarry at 5 weeks.

By this stage I had already been seeing a fertility specialist for a year and and after an Anti-Mullerian Hormone test (which came back at 12) my FS recommended IVF.

Still completely ignorant, we thought IVF may be the answer, even though we never had problems falling pregnant. So in Oct 2012 we did IVF and once again fell pregnant, with 4 embies frozen. On the 19th December I was back in for a D&C, the baby passed away at 13 weeks.

Sothere I was 5 losses later and still no answers, more tests run and more vials of blood taken than I can count. Once again all results come back normal - nothing wrong with my precious babies.

Fianlly my FS suggests nk cells - saying he doubts it has anything to do with it, but what the hell might as well test. I had a biopsy done last week and the results are in CD56 cells at 42%. From what ive read the normal range is 3-12%. FS says they are "slightly" elevated, although I think hes playing it all down so i dont stress! good news was no sign on CD57 cells.

So now, if i choose to try again he has given me a script for Prednisolone 10mg per day from cycle day 1 then Intralipids before and after a natural FET cycle. He said he will keep me on the Prednisolone till 12 weeks and theres no testing or talk of more intralipids after that time. I have lost 3 bubs between 13-15 weeks, I feel will need more care after 12 weeks possibly more treatment, but dont think i will get it from him. Im thinking if I do fall pregnant through FET Ill start seeing DR Mattias.

My doctors never took me seriously because of my age (31 - they kept telling me i have HEAPS of time dont worry about it) and they fact i have two girls. Im so annoyed it took 5 losses to get an answer, but grateful i finally have one.

Sorry its such a long post! thanks for reading!

    Hi Ladies,

B123 - Welcome to our thread. If it was me I would be looking at ARGC in London. They are very up to date with all the immunology treatment and they send bloods overseas to RFU for Dr. Beers testing. Also another Dr that follows Dr. Beers protocol is Dr. Gorgy also in London who is very well known in the reproductive immune world. Good luck!

Yingang - Lovely to hear from you. I bet your little one is keeping you busy, busy!! I'm planning my FET in Cape Town as we speak! It's getting exciting cause I've waiting sooooo long with my missing AF I can finally get the wheels in motion.

Noonoos - Welcome to the thread. Great that you now know what may be the problem for all those recurrent failure's. Just reading your results and I'm confused on which levels are high. CD56 are the blood levels & CD57 are uterine levels, so I think you may have them mixed up? I tend to agree with you that if you achieve a BFP perhaps you can get in touch with Dr. M to monitor your blood levels which will allow you to relax more in the pregnancy.

    Hi to everyone else

AFM: I've received my TH1:TH2 ratio levels my cytokines flared ever so slightly above normal range. I'm aware that it's not uncommon for the TNFalpha to increase following Humira because the Humira blocks TNF from binding and effecting its target cells. As a result, the immune system can make more TNF in an attempt to override the blockade. So IVIG can be effectively used at this point to bring down my cytokines and also prednisolone so I'm not worried. I'll book my IVIg with Gweneth on Monday which will give Dr. M over a months notice then 2 weeks later I'll fly out to Cape Town for my FET! I can't believe I'm finally at the planing stage.

    Hi Ladies

    Hope all is well!

Welcome to all the newbies: B123/Loki & Noonoos!

Helen: How exciting its getting closer for you! I am sending you love and light and pray the Humira & IVIG is the success and answer in this long journey for you! What date are you looking at?
Ying Yang: Thank you for popping in, its nice to hear from someone who has seen success of this protocol, I think I do have a fighter and am trying to stay positive!
FG: How you going with your long cycle? When are you up to now? Will you be doing intralipid or IVIG?
Nat: Hope you & your lil man are doing well, have you named him yet??
Crofty: Hows everything going - did you manage to rebook your biopsy yet?
Romy: Hope you're doing good, when were you looking at transfer date??
    MrsErinR: Hows everything going??
Bella: Thanks again for the pessaries they have come in handy especially because I am now doubling the dosage under Dr Ms instructions...
Scruffy: It was sooo lovely meeting you on Saturday and putting a face to a name, I can see how excited you are and as mentioned with your high levels you could get the twinnies you want! Good luck

AFM: Had another BT on Sat morning before I went in for my Intralipid and my levels are continuing to double which is a good sign, they went from 3158 last Weds to 6338 & progesterone is up to 80. They still arent that high so I am slightly worried...I dont we ever stop worrying do we...I have a scan booked in on Weds to make sure everything is ok so after that I think I will be a little more at ease if all goes well, my biggest fear is an etopic or not seeing anything in the sac but I guess that fear is normal.
I will keep you posted after the scan!

Hi to all those I might of missed, sending lots of positive vibes out to all!

Kiwi77, so happy to hear that everything is going as it should for you. That is great.

Thanks for asking after me. Sadly, I got a BFN last week so it was a hard week but I'm starting to feel better now. I'd had high hopes after how much we'd thrown at it medication-wise! Had a big cry and cracked an expensive bottle of wine for my own little pity party last week.

Now I'm trying to look forward to the next cycle and hope for a better result. We're back to see our FS on the 18th.

Good luck everyone with wherever you're at.

Im soooo sorry MrsErinR, I know exactly how you would've been feeling & still feeling as I thought I was in the same situation a couple of weeks ago. It's such a horrible thing knowing how much you've put into it...just know that there s IVIG which would've been my next selection & still may be depending on how things go on Weds. I'm positive you will get the result you want next cycle, don't stop believing and know we are here for you!

Mrs Erin I hope that you find some answers. Make sure you ask about IVIG this time. Dr M does phones consults as well if you want to get a second opinion.

I hope it was a bottle of Grange that you drank as you deserve it.
