    Default High Natural Killer Cells

Oh April - I hope Monday's test proves you wrong. Did you have a biopsy with HFC? Dr M seemed to be happy to go off those results for me.

    Default High Natural Killer Cells

Thanks scruffy i hope i dont need Dr Ms appt either but i dont think i will be that lucky. I was one of these women who thought IVF would be easy for me as I don't have the IF issues oh boy was I wrong !!!!

I hope you can your tests all sorted so you can start. It feels exciting when a new cycle is about to begin , especially since this one will be with your new protocol
I will have to apply your approach to telling my FS- you are right it is my body and I frankly have lost patience for waiting around . My FS is going on leave for a few weeks do its a perfect excuse to get a second opinion

Sorry to hear that April. I hope you are ok

    Oh April That sucks.

I also found HFC were rubbish at interpreting results, they said my NK cell biopsy was normal. I had to ring back and say actually my CD 57 cells are double the acceptable limit! Definitely all immune stuff I am now listening to Dr M.

Not sure about the intralipids in WA. I was also wondering about this. It looks like I will be slightly ahead of your next cycle so will certainly let you know....

Sorry April to hear your news, hope Dr. M will provide you with some new strategy moving forward...

With regards to Intralipid / IVIG, I know it can be done either in Kareena private or Hurstville Private hospital but this is in Sydney. It depends on what private health insurance you have to know how much you are out of pocket for the hospital staying. Im with HCF hospital cover, so I don't have to pay any excess. The drug itself costs $650 out of pocket for Intralipid and $2200 for IVIG and medicare or private insurance do not cover these.

    How is everyone else?

Bella, hope ur enjoying the pregnancy and 1st scan will put your mind at ease and give you more assurance that this is IT!

Helen, any news? Im thinking of you.

Scruffy, hope you will soon start the new cycle with Dr.M's new treatment...sounds exciting!

Lillac, welcome! Its always gonna be an awkward situation when seeking 2nd opinion. But again it is not your FS who is going to lose sleeps on whether Im going to have a baby EVER! So on that, make yourself a priority for sure! Good luck!

April honey I'm soo sorry, . Sounds like you have a plan with the back to back FET.
Hi to everyone else, I am stalking as not doing much until the end of Nov after I finish my 6 weeks of dexamethasone then hysteroscopy & biopsy time. Once results from that come back Dr M will be deciding on the path for me...such a long wait!
can someone do a roll call? I'm a little lost where everyone is up to...

My issue is that I've had 3 transfers with high quality blasts and nothing. We did ICSI for male factor issues and from all tests i am ok.
I am about to do a final FET cycle with 2 blasts so I've scheduled Dr M for mid December in case I get pregnant (highly doubt it!)
So my dilemma is that now I am feeling a bit guilty about "cheating" on my FS (who is a lovely and very clever professor)
During my last consult he did say that he would do the immune testing before another Stim cycle and put me on dr Sacks protocol (they work from same clinic ) but I've decided to take matters into my own hands .
Did you tell your FS that you were going through Dr M?
I can feel an awkward conversation coming soon but maybe I'm thinking too much of my FS' ego
    Hi Lillac, Welcome!
I too used my last frostie before pursuing Dr M's treatment plan as I was on the Bondi Protocol for NK cells with Dr S, I was on Prednisolone 40mg, Clexane & progesterone pessaries & I really thought that would be enough but unfortunately it wasn't. We originally went through IVF due to my DH having low count, nxt to none I thought everything was fine with me, tests all said so...until after 2 chemical pregnancies & 2 BFN I changed specialists & saw Dr Sacks who diagnosed me with very high NK cells...started bondi protocol with Dr S in Jan & had 2 more chemicals & 1 BFN. I ended up talking to Dr S about Dr M as I felt a bit bad too but its your life, your money & your time you need to make sure you do everything in your power to try everything that is going to make you feel right about it all! I had met with Dr M before my last FET but decided to stick with the Bondi Protocol as I really thought it would work...now I'm back to square one & need to do a full stim cycle but before that Dr M has me on dexamethasone for 6 weeks then he will do a biopsy as my CD57 (uterine NK) cells were very high from Dr S results, depending on the results he will plan my treatment so looking at Jan for my next cycle...
It really depends if you have NK cells you may not but I just wanted to share my story with you as I was in a similar position...

thanks kiwi, what a shame your treatment didn't work. it is heartbreaking when so much effort and hope goes into something and it fails. will you be staying with Dr S for IVF?
i have been in two minds about using my last two blasts before seeing Dr M.

I have a FET scheduled this month so if I need Dr M's treatment it will be during a new stim cycle. Today I had a bit of a breakthrough. My FS rang with results from my endo biopsy that I had done a few weeks ago.
The biopsy was done to cause an injury that is supposed to aid implantation however FS sent the sample away for testing and it came back very low in NK cells. This was a bit of relief for now but he did say my endometrium is 'out of phase'. therefore the uterine receptivity is not great.
FS convinced me to keep going with this cycle and give the natural FET cycle a final go, and I am using Clomid which is supposed to resolve the out of phase issue.
So my plan is now the same. I will play the 'numbers game' again during this cyle and proceed with Dr M's appt in December if no luck
