    Default Angry vent!!!

So if u r unaware I recently found out that im pregnant. It took place while I had the IUD in.
I just went back to work july 2 this year from mat leave.
Since this pregnancy is risky dh and I decided that telling my boss is a better option then constantly lying about why I have to leave early for appts or in case I start bleeding at work that I can just go.

So I told her.... after congratulating me she said the following:
Unfortunately the REPERCUSSION for you is that you wont be a (job title) when you return.
My response: excuse me? That's illegal....
    Her response:
No its not - as long as we provide a job for you it isn't illegal. I can't have temps come in and stuff up again like the past 12 months.

I immediately went back to my desk and googled industrial relations and of course I was right ... they can't do that..... now im just totally ****ed off... repercussion? I can't believe the stupid woman used that word

Well I'm going to give you a big fat CONGRATULATIONS! !
And you can still be a BubHubber after its born... :-)
In all seriousness, make sure you stand your ground. No women should feel insecure in their job because they are having a family. Good luck! X

Karma got her when a box fell on her face 20 minutes later and smashed the glass from her glasses into her face so her face was bleeding and she had a black eye.... I secretly wished that I could take the credit for it

    Hahahahahaha.
Documenting your conversation is a good idea , and keep dates and times too so that you have everything you need if something comes of it.

i've heard people say that when they have gone back to work they have had a job held for them, but not the job they originally had. and there's a loophole there where they can promise you a job, just not your job that you want. my sister in law went from being a sales manager in a company right down to just admin..

forgot to add... hahaha.. karma sure got her. lol

That is horrible I'm so sorry this is happening to you.

Unfortunately though, they don't legally have to give you your old job back, just a job at the same "level" depending on how your company grades their employees. At my work we're pay grades, so a graduate engineer may be the same level as a technical assist if that makes sense.

It sucks, but they can do it they can't demote you though! Just move you sideways.
