    Default Has anyone been induced?

I was induced at 37 and 1 day because bubs was small and they thought he was better out than in. I was induced by balloon Catheter that night and the pains from that were like contractions all night. Then next morning they took it out, broke my waters at 9am and bubs was born at 1256pm. Four hour labour and all went well but ended up getting pre eclampsia during labour and they said I needed to have the epidural to help with the blood pressure. Also had a magnesium sulphate drip in and was bed bound. But other than that all was well. Contractions were pretty intense and came quickly but were bearable.

I was induced at 38+3 for medical reasons, but it was my 2nd bub. My induction was only breaking the waters and then labour kick started on its own anyway (bub was born less than 4hrs after waters were broken).
It is such a personal, individual thing, if its being done for medical reasons and you have no choice then don't overthink it. If you have a choice, I'd wait (even though I had a good induction experience, who knows if it would be the same next time).

If baby is better out than in, I would not hesitate.

I was induced at 39 weeks with my first, and would not do it again as my body was NOT ready and my baby was not ready.

I think induction can be fine if your body is already ready to birth or is medically necessary.
