Has anyone been induced at 37weeks due to medical reasons?
Do you wish you waited another couple of weeks?

I was induced at 37 after my waters broke (gbs positive) and I wouldn't change a thing. It was intense, but over in 4 hours with no other intervention or any pain relief.

Bub is well also. She has a few little non serious issues, but they would still be issues if she were born at 40 or 43 weeks!

Induction isn't necessarily the awful evil that is often portrayed on BH. There are so many factors that influence your birth experience...

    Good luck

Yeah I was Induced at 37 for medical reasons I think if the baby is better out then growing inside then I would but this would be the only reason otherwise I think the last few weeks are important for them to put on that bit more weight

My SIL was for medical reasons and she had a perfect bub! She took the epidural though and LOVED it!

I was induced at 38 weeks for medical reasons and was so glad I didn't do it at 37 weeks like they originally wanted to. My daughter came out blue and was grunting when she breathed and was taken pretty much straight to the NICU. They said if it had been any earlier it would have been worse. She only spent a few hours in the NICU luckily, and she is now a happy and healthy 11 month old.

I was induced with my daughter at 37 weeks. I would put some serious thought behind it before saying yes again. At the time, I just trusted the doctors & also thought it was great that I didn't have to wait any longer.

The induction took 72 hours from start to finish. By the time I had my daughter, I hadn't sleep for 3 days and was exhausted, didn't have the birth I envisaged and ended up in a lot of pain for 4 weeks due to birthing on my back, with epidural and conseqent grade 3 tear.

My daughter was also very stressed towards the end due to 17 hours of constant artifical contractions.

There are heaps of positive induction stories & heaps of negative. If baby is ready he/she will come easily. In the end I was just greatful my bub was healthy and happy and only needed special care for 2 days and lots of b-feeding to help her gain weight.

Good luck with your induction, just make sure your fully informed about everything before you go ahead.

I was induced at 38 weeks with my first pregnancy because of Gestational Diabetes, it all went well - 8 hour labour no pain relief. Actually was my best labour out of 3, the other two I went over 40+ but labours longer and last birth ended in c-section.

I have been induced twice at 37 + 2 for medical reasons and would do it again (both DD's were measuring small for dates) 1st time was with gel 2nd time with foley catheter. Both were delivered quickly with no drugs. My belief is the dr's delivery babies for a living, they want the best possible outcome for both baby & mum. I have 2 beautiful healthy girls who reached their milestones on time or before.

i was induced at 38 weeks due to medical reasons and i was excited at first but then not so much, they put the gels in at midnight and then again twice the following day, not much happened so the doctor thought he would try breaking the membraines by hand - not a nice experience for me or my hubby sitting next to me. the following morning they put me on the drip which started things moving a lot faster, i had an epidural (wish i hadn't) and then that slowed it down abit - i wasn't well educated from midwifes about epidural. i wen tall day and then the baby became stressed so i ended up having a csection than was unable to breastfeed - nothing natural about the start of my babies life - straight on to formula- next time i want to go natural
