just a usual clean and tidy, plus Id weed the gardens.
Our tenant doesnt do anything, but then hes extended family so gets a break
We just brought a house and had an inspection for the one we are still renting and it was so awesome.
I did NOTHING!
I had done my normal clean like I do daily but nothing extra, I didn't even bother moving the mountain of washing I had been folding before she arrived that was piled on my couch
She was in and out in 2 minutes and said "yep great like always, thanks"
I had been wasting so much effort clearly like PP though I used it as my excuse to get the house pristine .
We get long list our notice -it is virtually a bond clean, saying we need to clean everything oven, windows, blinds, tracks etc. We did it all the first time, and Hubby cleaned the oven, when she came (in their 4 HOUR TIME FRAME) she didn't even set foot in the house just asked if we had any issues and if we were happy, then left. DH was in the dining room and when she didn't follow me in he said "Where is she?!" and when I said she left he said well go and get her and shove her head in the bloody oven!
I always use it as an opportunity to have a full clean, but they never have a good look.
We just had our last inspection as we are moving into our own house in October
We have an inspection tomorrow between 9-11 I'll be at work anyway. I did my normal clean on the weekend tonight I'll vacuum and mop downstairs (it needs it anyway) and generally tidy the other rooms. I wiped down the kitchen cupboards etc last week. Our PM has been pretty good so far they are just checking that there isn't damage not the way we live. Though you know they'll judge you if it's a pigsty!
We had our first routine inspection in our rental last week. I've never been more relaxed about an inspection to be honest! We just made sure the lawn was mowed, weeding was done and the house was clean and tidy.
No feedback as yet, though I'm sure we'd have heard if they had an issue. Having said that, apparently they did issue a list of things that we needed to clean prior to the inspection - DH admitted that he hid it from me because he didn't want me to stress and go all out with the cleaning!
I'm kind of glad I didn't know about the 'list'. The house should be clean and tidy inside and out, and no damage to the property. That should be their concern - nothing more.
Our last rental property was a brand spanking new house when we moved in - the first inspection the PM barely even looked at anything. She was more interested in our cute DS!
