    Default TTC and alcohol

    Hi everyone

My friends and I have a weekend booked to go away and basically drink cocktails all weekend! We do it every year and this year will be no different.

The week after I will be ovulating and looking (well I was looking) at conceiving.

Is it safe to drink like that one week before wanting to conceive? Or do I just give up and try next month?

I cant not drink, because I dont want to tell people Im TTC and they will no somethings up when I dont want to drink on our 'drinking weekend away'

    Thanks for the help

You should be fine. I am TTC and haven't drunk anything since starting but I don't drink much anyway so it's not out of character for me, just don't drink in the TWW - in case you do fall pregnant.

If there's no other issues-I don't see a problem! I drank through ttc as normal-I cut back to one night instead of two unless there was a party but mainly as we are saving $$ at the same time. Good luck

Its up to you, I pretty much stopped as soon as we started TTC but that was because I didn't want to potentially drink when already UTD without knowing.. If you know its a week later then personal preference for yourself I suppose.

Maybe go have one last weekend of fun before you do get you BFP lol

    It's really a personal choice...
There's no baby there for it to affect but it's not letting your body be in optimum condition to conceive. That said, A LOT of people conceive on alcohol!
I probably wouldn't let it worry me and just wait till next month or see what happens!
I was drunk the whole week with my BF leading up to my AF.. which didn't arrive and I was pregnant!

ofcourse you will be fine! most people i know conceive their babies on a big night out!
but i understand you trying to reduce your drinking for TTC as I am doing the same, well during the week anyway.
dont stress about. go and have a fabulous wknd with your girls! im jealous!

I thought drinking assisted in conception OK maybe that was just in my case.

I think you'll be pretty safe, have a great time.

I started out abstaining, but it ended up taking us over 2.5 yrs to conceive. I kept my alcohol intake fairly low, but still let myself relax abd have fun, and enjoy my life prebaby.
