Default # Failed First IVF cycle :(

    Hello everyone,
I had my Day 5 blasto transfer on the 24/7/2012... I had my AF on 1/8/2012...
It is really frustrating... i have a few questions,

    1. Is there anything that could be done when AF starts?
    2. Could it be because of low progesterone levels? (i was on crinone)
    3. Any close monitoring needed after blasto transfer?
    4. What happen next on FET ?

Appreciate any help for me to understand better...
    Thank you...

Don't worry too much, the first cycle is all a bit of an experiment (just make sure the lessons are learned as above )
You got further than we did on the first try, we had all immature eggs that did not fertilize... But then we got further than other who did not even get to egg collection!
    Good luck

    Default In Same Boat

Hi mumpin seems like my first IVF cycle turned out the same way as yours. ---- (for both of us). My 5 dayET was on 23/7/12 but then AF arrived 31/7/12. I'm still waiting for answers myself. My next step will be FET but I'll have to wait another month for that. I'm just going to work on being as healthy as possible (well after I finish up that last chocolate in the cupboard ! )

    Hi mumpin
I'm sorry your first cycle did not work out. Mine didn't either. I have just had a 5dt on 6/8/12 but after my last IVF cycle I got AF at 9dp2dt (or 11dpo) so I could get AF this time by 12/8/12. My FS did not think that it was too early but it certainly felt like it.

I was on crinone twice a day but don't get BT to check my progesterone levels after transfer. Some people do but it depends on different doctors and different protocols.

As far as the FET goes, some people have a medicated cycle if they dont ovulate naturally, otherwise usually you have BT +/- ultrasounds to check for ovulation. Then if you have a 5day blasty then you have FET done 5 days after ovulation. I also started crinone again the day after I ovulated. So not as involved physically but still an emotional roller coaster.

I wish you all the best and hope the next FET is the lucky one! Stay sane.... I know I struggle with this!!
