    Default Sugar Free Diet?

Am interested in hearing from anyone that has gone sugar free? Would love to hear what recipes you use etc.

Hiya, sugar free here (mostly...!), I basically cook everything from scratch & when I eat sweets, sub honey for the sugar component.. you can still bake some yummy stuff with natural sweeteners. Nourishing Traditions is an awesome cookbook.

By the way it did massively improve my health & I'd never go back to sugar as a regular/daily thing - just feel much better, haven't been sick in years, lots more energy etc.

Thanks for your reply! May i ask did you cut back for health reasons? I will check out the book too. I worry I am going to find it hard as I bake ALOT! But I know fruit has natural sugars etc. Is that what you meant by natural sweeteners?
At the moment we are eating down our pantry to try & use up the canned & packet foods too as we want to cut out preservatives too!

I have been wanting to try this as well. Alas we are going to start the DASH diet as my DP has very high cholesterol and moderate hypertension. So cutting out salt/sodium and saturated fats etc etc. They also recommend a lot more fruit than other diet plans.

We are going to substitute sugar for stevia or the other one Xyiltol (I can't remember how to spell it)though and see how that goes.

There is a book that looks really good I think it is called Sweet Poison, but we got the DASH one instead .

    Good luck!!

Thanks for the book recommendation! I am going to look for it. Excuse my ignorance - what is stevia?
