Mine were similar and once I had my implanon inserted I only got AF once every 3-6 months and They were much better.
Might be an alternative to the IUD. I think I bled for about a fortnight after but it was very light (went through maybe 3 light pads a day) and it was virtually pain free.
There are side effects though so ask your GP
