New to Forum & Motherhood

Hello All,

I joined this forum a few days ago as I literally just found out that I am a Mother-to-be. On July 30th the urine test was positive and on August 1st the blood test was also positive. The doctor estimated that I am 3-4 weeks pregnant and that it is hard to tell as I just came off the contraceptive pill a month ago. I am 24 and he is 22 and we live in Sydney. This was an unplanned pregnancy however my partner and I are absolutely thrilled to start a family

Congratulations!

Sounds simialar to our story, we weren't actively trying although not preventing... Very excited when we found out and even more excited now at 17 weeks!

I'm not actually sure when the EDD is yet. I also assume it will be late March or early April. The doctor ordered an ultrasound in 4 weeks time to provide an EDD but my grandmother in-law was a midwife and the head of the department in her day and she advised not to get an ultrasound because of the radation? and to only get one if absolutely needed and to go through the pregnancy as natural as possible as God intended it to be.
