My DD still had a daytime nap right up until she started school. This was mainly because I am a shiftworker and I had a sleep too. If I didn't work we both didn't sleep. So I guess you could say she didn't need that sleep but still happily did.
Even now at 5 1/2 if I ask her on the weekends if she would like a cuddle with mum in bed while DS sleeps she will drop off to sleep within 10 mins.

I had the same question thanks for asking!
Ds is 28 months and dropped his day sleep most days, i was still getting him to have a sleep but he was going to bed at midnight!
Now he sleeps from 7 or 8 to at leAst 7 and no longer wakes overnight.
I get him to lay on the couch and watch a movie after lunch sometimes he nods off but rarely!!

Dd was 4, DS still naps at nearly 3 and hoping he maintains it for awhile yet. They are both (at 5.5 and 2.75), usually in bed at 7 and asleep by 7.30

My daughter stopped having a day nap everyday around 3, and completely stopped by 3.5.

My son has just turned 2, and no sign of stopping yet.

Ds1 only stopped his day sleeps when starting 3yr kindy because kindy was at his sleep time. He is 4.5yrs now and will still have a day sleep one day on the weekend and regardless of the time he has it he still happily goes to sleep at his regular bedtime.

Ds2 is 16mths and he is transitioning into 1 sleep a day rather than 2 but I still encourage him to have the afternoon sleep if he has an early morning sleep otherwise if he has a middle of the day sleep I leave it at that.
