Taxis and infants (Geelong region)

Hi

Does anyone know whether there are any taxi firms that have suitable carseats for 4 month olds, specifically in the Geelong area? I have not lived
over here long and am not sure if it's possible to use taxis with an infant or not...if not I'll have to rethink!

When I took a taxi with my daughter when she was under 1 she just sat on my lap.

Taxis still get into car accidents!! Not a good risk to take!

I am very curious as to how to get a child around via taxi too.. I had been contemplating this myself!

I'm pretty sure it is illegal for children to not be properly restrained in taxis. Call your local taxi company and ask but I'm pretty sure taxis either carry carseats or they will send one that does.

In Victoria an infant can be unrestrained on your lap for short trips.

Current n.s.w laws require a child under 1 to travel in a carseat,

Over 1 availability and parental discression.

Not the case in victoria unfortunately.

I'd say your best bet is call the taxi company to book your trip and see if you can request a car seat. I live in Geelong but don't use taxi's often sorry.
