It all comes down to what they were taught at uni. When I was studying midwifery we were told that birth is natural, women's body's are made for it etc etc etc. OB's on the other hand would be drilled about how pregnancy and birth is a medical condition with many risks to mother and baby.

Hi captainscaptain - i used to work at a med school so i def agree with you there. My partner did say to the ob 'why are you trying to fix a problem that doesnt exsist, there is nothing wrong with my DP or our baby. They dont need your intervention, they are fine how they are'. All we got back was rules, guidelines blah blah blah. Cant wait to call the hospital tomorrow!

I did rip them a new one today, you know me too well.

I am booked in tomorrow morning to discuss a care plan for continuation of care, inc monitoring etc. they will also do an internal, try to do a strech & sweep and may do a CTG. They were VERY sorry about the treatment DP and I received on Friday and would like to continue my care (i threatened to go to one of the other public hospitals). My appt is with a registrar and the head of obstetrics is available to attend my appointment if needed. So fingers crossed they actually listen to us this time. If they dont - i wont go back.......

My GP appointment this morning went well and my cervix is nice and soft but still hasnt opened, BP was also down a bit (i wonder why, lol). Bub still 2/5 above brim with a nice strong heartbeat and lots of movement. So i know we are both doing well.

In the meanwhile i have been trying every labour inducing trick in the book to get things going naturally. Raspberry leaf tea (have been on it since 36 weeks), walking, nice long hot showers, fitball ouncing, hypnobabying, evening primrose oil, clary sage oil belly rubbs, spicy food..... And at lunch today i took castor oil, which is still being processed - lots of strange belly noises and tummy tightening sensations. Probably an interesting evening to follow......

Will update you all with what happens tomorrow.

    Awesome

Other things to try are a pregnancy massage and accupuncture. I had accupuncture booked in with DD but she decided to come before the appointment.

I also planned to go out with DF and DS to a restaruant that does the BIGGEST and BEST deserts ever on the Saturday night if she hadn't come and the calories would not have counted because of the situation. Dam it she came out on the Saturday afternoon.
