Default Hoping someone can help me

Just looking for advice and hoping someone has been in a similar situation.
DS doesn't start school for a couple of years but it's something that's worrying me.

We can't possibly know where we'll be when DS is school age. We're a defence force family so knowing where you'll be in 3 years isn't that common.
Is it ok for me to put him on waiting lists for schools in the areas that we MIGHT end up in? (that's a LOT of schools haha) or will they not accept him on waiting lists if we don't already live in the area?

I know that public schools have to take him if he's in their zone but I'm worried that the only schools that are close to us we might not like and therefore miss out on one we DO like because he's not on the list.

    Gah, it's so mind bending!

You can definitely put his name down at private schools. You will most likely have to pay a non refundable fee though.

The whole school thing can be tricky.
