    Default Wisdom tooth extraction help

I had a bottom wisdom tooth out today in the chair and I am in so much pain. I have had three surgeries this year alone and I would take one of those and be glad over this pain. I'm in tears its that bad.

What helped you through your extractions and how long did the pain last?

I had 4 chisled out under GA, I had to take a lot of panadene forte, use lots of coldpacks and suck on icecubes, it is awful having pain in your face you need to get some painkillers and if still bad in a couple of days go back to dentist.

Just thought I would post this so if anyone else comes looking they can see how my night went.

Well the pain was about a 7/10 last night. I have had gal stones, kidney stones, miscarriages, pancreatitis all this year. Well this was worse than all except the pancreatitis.

I ended up eating 1/3 of a serving of fruche yoghurt. It was thick enough I could control it in my mouth but still lovely and soft and cold. After that I popped two panadine fortes (pain was still horrible and i was in tears) and slept sitting up in bed. I woke a few times but all I did was ice my cheek. The last thing I wanted was a huge swollen face today.

Well I'm up now, drinking a luke warm coffee (hot will cause bleeding) and other than some mild discomfort I feel fine. The muscles in my body Hurt more than my mouth from over tensing. But even that is only a 1-2/10. I even feel well enough in going to head into Uni to do a 3 hour lab class.
