Ooh MG I hope your boys had a big sleep in for you. We were up at 530 - that's a sleep in for us these days. Considering I was asleep by 930 it's not too bad.

Hope you all had lovely nights. Can't quite believe it's already 2013.

Up at 6 am this morning. Fortunately DH and I did rock, paper scissors last night, and I won with paper and had a little sleep in!! He's having a little snooze now though.

    Hope Marc's finger is ok.

Yeah it's fine. He was very tired and hot when it happened so it just tipped him over the edge.

Alittle - thinking of you. Did you get the BT results yesterday?

Happy New Year lovely ladies!!! Thankyou for all of you wonderful support and encouragement during 2012. So glad to be part of this wonderful group. Here's to a happier and fulfilling 2013. As suspected bloods result was a BFN so I am starting 2013 with renewed hope and hopefully have some better luck.

JFB - sorry for your loss but as you said, your nan has had a long innings and probably a very eventful life to have lived that long, unfortunate having dementia though bless her.

BK - happy birthday to Henry for yesterday, hope you all had a lovely day together.

Alittle - sorry it wasn't meant to be this time, hopefully you will have a change of luck very soon, sounds like you are coping ok.

MG - I couldn't have coped having such a late one, 12.30 was late enough.

I'm feeling the effects of a couple little drinks and what I call a late night, in bed by 12.30. We went to my friend's across the road for a bbq & came home at 10pm as Evie was beside herself and needed to go to bed, I intended to the same but stayed up and watched the fireworks on the box thinking E might sleep in as it was the latest night she's had but she was up at 7.30. I tossed and turned most of the night so am knackered today. Just spent most of it back in my neighbours pool, it's so hot & now Evie is catching up on sleep & think I should too. I really don't miss alcohol.

JFB. I'm sorry for your families loss. What a great innings she had.

Well girls I a well and truly OVER Hs night wakings. He is generally a great sleeper. Goes down awake, falls asleep in his own etc. but about 5 weeks ago he started waking in the night again. He has done this for short periods of time before so I didn't worry about it. Give him a bottle and he goes back to sleep. Well he seems to have developed a pattern now and every night he is waking once or twice and goes mental until he gets a bottle. He even goes mental if DH goes up instead of me. I've tried settling him without a bottle and he goes ballistic, works himself up until he dies that choking thing. I've tried letting him cry it out or going in and out and nothing is working. I thought I would just wait it out as it must be a phase but it keeps going on and on. Any suggestions?

Bk, Harry was notorious for this stunt......I find it hard to settle as I'm worried the other kid will wake up etc...he sounds like he waking just for a bottle? We've been slack here as h still sometimes wakes up yelling out ' more milkkkkkkkk' etc and he is given a bottle but being older its only occasionally.....when younger we would get him out of the pattern doing the whole in and out settling only for it to start again and one of us being too over it to care and cave in to the bottle demand....sometimes we tried just giving him water to break the habit...inevitably tho it just involved breaking the habit by not giving him a bottle of milk....and settling every night...it did work after a few nights.....sometimes he would drink the water the first night but then would realise it wasn't milk after that....he would of course and go berserk for a few nights....it's awful...I don't have any fantastic tips besides using the water at first and stick to that settling??? ......has any of his day routines changed..eating less? Waking up hot or cold?
