Default Has anyone with tubal blockage...

Managed to fall pregnant naturally after having a tubal dye test?

I only have one Fallopian tube, which is blocked, and i was told that to have any more children i would need ivf. I have been recently advised that having a tubal dye test in some cases can successfully remove the blockage, and make it possible to fall pregnant naturally.

Has anyone had any success with this? I'm curious to try this before heading down the IVF path.

    TIA

I had to have the hsg test a few months ago...we were also heading down the path of ivf and my fs wanted to make sure everything was all ok with me. I wasn't aware before hand, but it was discovered during the test that i had a partial blockage in one of my tubes. We had been ttc for 7 months with no luck straight after the test i fell pregnant! Im now 10 weeks i believe it was because my tubes were cleared. Good luck hun

Yep, me! (Well I believe so!) When ttc DD I was conviced I had a blockage, FS was too and I had the HSG done while tracking my cycle before commencing IVF. Had the HSG done and though no blockage was found during the scan, I fell pg that same cycle after trying for ages. The dr said they couldnt see a blockage but it didnt necessarily mean there wasnt one, it might have been unblocked as the dye went though. I am conviced it was the HSG that allowed me to get pg that cycle. Good luck

I had a blocked tube after my 2nd miscarriage. I had a HSG done but unfortunately it didn't unblock. I ended up have a laparoscopic surgery where the dr was able to block the left tube off and put more force on the fluid going through the right. This unblocked the tube and i fell pregnant with my son 5 days later.

We conceived this time without even trying so the problem hasn't come back.

I was lucky the ivf dr I went to that did all these tests for me was reluctant to move straight to ivf as I had fallen pregnant naturally twice So he did what ever he could to fix what ever the new problem was. Finding the block tube shocked me but was relieve when he was able to correct it fairly easily.

Good luck I hope they are able to clear it for u.

Hi waitinghoping - hope you don't mind me asking, what made you and your FS so certain it was a blockage? Are their signs to look out for? We are at a year TTC now so im looking at everything. TIA

Hi - I had been experiencing pain on one side despite having a laparoscopy not long earlier to remove endometriosis and uterine growths. Specialist couldnt find any other reason for the pain so suspected it was a blockage. Not all people with a blockage get pain with it though. HTH

I'm glad to hear that that is also another option! Thanks
