The Bellini was taken off the market due to legal reasons but there also seemed to be quite a few complaints in regards to it burning.

However, the Thermochef has been around for some time and seems to be quite reputable if you wanted something cheaper...here is a review that compares them both

The Good Guys have also released a TM21 knock off (TM31 is the new and improved version of the TM21). I have no idea what it is like.

OP if you are interested this thread discusses the bellini and superchef from good guys (same machine)

    http://www.bubhub.com.au/community/f...machine/page12

I'm not saying buy one or the other, I don't have a TM but would love one, this was next best option for me. But if you're interested have a read.

FWIW I havent burnt anything in mine yet *touch wood* lol oh and my mashed potato was pretty awesome too.

Tonight for dinner am going to do apricot chicken i think (cue groaning husband lol)

Sorry, I wasn't trying to suggest anything....just that the Bellini isn't something that you can buy now, hence the offer of the alternatives

no that's ok... target have it back now after the issues earlier in the year. My understanding is it is an updated model. But I only got mine a few weeks ago so they must have sorted out whatever problems they had.

We love our porridge too! So nice and think and creamy. And we just add fruit at the beginning. Sometimes chop up some nuts too before cooking it.

Oh okay! I didn't know that Burning was an issue in the old one...and the fact they forgot to take the word 'thermomix' out of their cookbook

OP the new Bellini will be based on the TM21 cause it is no longer under patent so maybe research the differences between a TM21 and a TM31. That would be a good start as to whether the machines like the Bellini and the superchef would do everything you want to do.

Has anyone had success with the yoghurt in the thermomix? That's the only thing I could see saving us money as we're constantly buying greek/natural/sweet yoghurts.

    sure
porridge i chuck in a cored apple or pear and grate
add 1/3 cup rolled oats (i find it's usually too much for me and 3 yo lol)
um about half cup of milk (i use soy) and about the same for water
i cook at 80 deg speed 2 for 10 minutes
then i chuck in handful of sultanas and cook for another minute or 2

Serve with some honey (sorry i'm not much one for knowing how much i put in of things or times i just kind of guess and taste to see if it is done)

I will come back later after i've fed bub and tell you the tuna one
