Default Unborn & Born Babies of IGUR.

(posted in health section but was no response)

Is anyone going thru it now or has had a baby with IGUR?

I am currently 35+2 & our baby is weighing 1788grams. I am seeing my OB 1st aug (hopefully he will have the results) & will know what happens next. I am trying to not stress but is still hard for me DS was born healthy 8pound 4 at 40+2 so don't know anything about IGUR with DD.

I couldn't read and not reply. I haven't had any experience with this but wanted to let you know that my son was born 2.6kgs as I was on medication that was restricting his weight. He didn't need any special care and was able to come home with me after 3days.

DD2 had iugur she was born healthy at 37 weeks and not as small as they thought y ob thought she would be.

You will most likely have more scans to check bubs growth and if any problems arrive your ob will talk you though them don't be afraid to ask questions.

Did you need size 00000 clothes for your babies. Even if I make it to full term she will be small unless she can put on alot of weight in 5weeks. I didn't know anything about IUGR until our scan yesterday & the guy that did the scan kept saying he thinks he will be seeing us again soon for another scan

Yep you will have alot of scans my babies start growing well but from 30 weeks they don't grow much at all.

I did have 00000 suits and she was in them for ages as she doesn't like to put on weight but that has been put down to me making small children.

Dont stress too much I know easier said than done. But you have the upper hand ad have found out and oh can be monitored.

I know it was a long time ago and not really *my* experience, but I was born at 37 weeks weighing 2.4kg. I was in a humidicrib for the first 24 hours and remained in hospital for two weeks. Mum had a few issues feeding me but apart from that I was healthy, and always have been.

DS was born weighing 3kg (not IUGR, just small) but he was in 00000 for the first two weeks, so if you can definitely get some. We had five target wondersuits and they were great. I also had a few issues feeding DS (the midwives thought it was due to his size) but I had expressed some colostrum before he was born so I was able to get that into him and not stress while he and I were figuring out breastfeeding.

Good luck, and I hope your baby packs on some weight between now and birth.

Billy was born with IUGR at 37 weeks exactly. I had high blood pressure and the IUGR was caused by pre eclampsia they think. He was 2.26 kilos and was in 00000's for a while and was in the nursery for 4 days- he had jaundice and hypothermia but was fine.. he is now a chunky little active 2 year old. No 2 will come early too. My BP is already high. Am having my first sequence of growth scans at 28 weeks. Try not to stress- they have identified the issue and they will look after you now as they see fit x

Got results From OB & currently she is under the 3rd percentile at 35w & 1d pregnant. I have to have another scan in 1&half weeks, ctg twice a week & I have a specialist appointment today to see what he thinks.

We are very scared & shocked. DS was born a good size no problems didn't know these things could happen.
