    Default What questions do I ask before hiring a once-off sitter?

    I am travelling interstate for work with my 2 year old. I need a sitter for one day (7 hours). I have found a company online and spoke with the co-ordinator who then arranged a suitable sitter to contact me. After speaking with the sitter I feel comfortable and happy to leave my daughter in her care.

    But... all this is online/on the phone, not in person - what should I be asking for when she turns up at my hotel? I was assured all sitters have experience (she is semi-retired casual child-care worker), all have CPR/First Aid & Blue Card check. Do I ask for ID, proof of certs., etc?

    I would ask for photo id. qualifications. certificates. including wwcc, first aid and resume for references etc.... or alternatively... place baby in a childcare facility for the day... would be much safer I think...
