As the title suggests I am just after any advice you can give me. I found out on Saturday that I am expecting my first baby & would appreciate any hints & tips you can give to help me with getting through the next 9 months

I know it sounds obvious ... But ... Eat well, just eat good food. It will help make a healthy baby and it will also help you to maintain a healthy weight during pregnancy, which helps afterwards when you really want to lose the baby weight! Relax and enjoy

I'm almost 32 weeks with my first, and the best advice I could give you so far would be:
If you're one of the unlucky ones and you have bad nausea & vomiting - ask your doctor about medication sooner rather than later. I spent 4 weeks bedridden before starting on ondansetron which had me feeling almost normal

Otherwise, the ever-useful advice from the hitchhiker's guide to the galaxy - DON'T PANIC.

You will get heaps of advice, so much that it will drive you absolutely nuts. Some old wives tales and some good ones. My suggestion, listen to them all take them to heart but make up your own mind about what is right...oh dont get in to an argument about them...you will just get tired.

Zanne is right - you have SO much advice coming your way!! I tried to stay polite, thank everyone for their concern - and take on board only what suited me, as you can't please everyone

Also, whenever you feel like it (if you can) sleep.

    Good luck and congratulations

Take plenty of belly photos, even if you don't think you look good, as you will look back on them and be glad you did.

The only thing i really wish I knew beforehand was to sleep now, sleep as much as possible while you are still small enough to sleep..... As the pregnancy goes on sleep becomes less and less and for me is now non existent (40+1 weeks). Ohhh I miss sleep! I dont think i will catch up on sleep when the baby is born.

This too, make sure you take a weekly photo in the same clothes so you can see the growth. I did mine in my fav bikini, the pictures are getting unbelievable now!
