Eleash-I had 11 follicles on my scan too, I think around 10 is average unless you have issues and they put you on high dose of gonal. I was on 212.50 and I am fine inside, our issue is my DH extremely low sperm count. I still managed to have one good embryo to transfer so I agree with Hilton it being quality not quantity, so don't stress until there is something to stress about.

I had my transfer this morning, so I am PUPO with an early stage balsty. Other embryo was still at morula stage, they are going to give it until tomorrow to see if it reaches blasty. If so they will freeze it, if not we have lost that one too. So praying that the one on board will snuggle in and give us our BFP as otherwise it's all over for us as can't afford another cycle.

Will be back soon for personals, hope you're all well x

I had my first blood test today after being on Gonal F- next blood tests are on Wednesday with an ultrasound- nurse said I may have my egg collection Friday this week, or Monday next.... It just seems all so quick! Anyway my question to all you wonderful ladies who have been through this before- what is egg collection like? Genea don't put you fully under with a general- (unless you request it) I want to try to do egg collection without it- I'm freaking it's not going to be a pleasant experience... Any info would be helpful

I had a general, they didn't give me the choice, but considering how sore I was internally the next day there's no way I would have done it without a general. And just being more pleasant without being conscious of all the people getting in up under there, I'm glad I had no clue!

Hi ladies, hope everyone is well? I've just read through the last 10 pages to familiarise myself with everyone's journeys, and for everyone.

I'm impatiently waiting for Wednesday, when I'll have my first tf since...March? Yep, just checked, last day of March. Wow, time has definitely not flown! Picked up some more antibiotics and prednisolone today. Have to keep taking the latter for the first trimester if this is successful. Not sure how that will go, they are the foulest tasting tablets invented. I yack up while taking them any way, can't imagine how it would be with ms. Oops, sorry, now I'm rambling.
for everyone having lots of sticky baby dust!

Mine have been with twilight sedation, so not aware but not deeply under either. Truthfully, I wake up feeling like I've just had the best sleep ever. Aware straight away, but it takes me a couple of minutes to really worry about how it all went.

Hi ladies. I'm new to this forum, do you mind if I join you?

Im currently in my 1st IVF cycle. US yesterday showed a minimum of 18 follies and BT showed high estrogen levels so I'm feeling rather unwell! Very bloated and sore, very tired, emotional, sore boobs, the works! Lol

EPU is scheduled for Friday with transfer either Sunday or Monday.
Like some of you, I too am a bit scared for EPU as I'm nt sure what to expect. A few of us have EPU on Friday, so it's nice to know you're not alone.

Wishing you all the very best of luck

    Default First IVF/ICSI Cycle

    Hi Everyone,

I've been reading a lot on these forums and wanted to share some of my story in the hope some of my questions/concerns can be answered.
My husband and I have been TTC since May 2010. Have done 1 cycle on clomid (thinned my lining) and 3 cycles on gonal f as ovulation induction. Were to move to IUI but found out MFI. I respond very well to the drugs and so was put at high-risk for OHSS.

Started down-regulation IVF/ICSI cycle August/September and had egg retrieval yesterday (24/09). 20 eggs were retrieved and now my transfer has been cancelled due to high estrogen levels and risk of OHSS. I was only on 100 units of gonal f for 9 days before trigger. Lab called today to say I had 17 mature eggs and 10 have fertilised so now waiting to see how many last before doing a freeze all. My questions are:
    1. how long to wait until doing a transfer? i've been told a month, if not more - so looking at mid-October or November
    2. what drugs are required for preparing for transfer?
    3. is it better to do a 2-3 day embryo or 5 day blast? I understand there are pros/cons with both.
Looking forward to learning more. Thanks for your help and support xx

Wishing everyone the very best x
