2. If you put anything onto a public forum you will always get support and criticism ... If you can't handle that don't post.
Also imagine if a thread started like this ... I was a stall holder at a market today I paid $150 for the table but also had to be tgere all day ... I also paid $25 for my flyers to be hAnded out in the goody bags to the customers. There was so many people there handing out flyers for their businesses that sold the same as me ... I complained to the market owner who was getting frustrated because he had to keep talking to these people who kept saying they didn't know it wasn't ok. Grrr so annoying I had to organize care for my kids all day, plus go and work all day despite being sick and it's no easy feat carrying all your stock in/out of a building when you are 6 mths pregnant.

To me it sounds like he has had to pick people up on this one too many times. It's unfortunate when people are rude, but often there's a reason.
And I think many people are missing the point when they suggest he should have patiently explained the rules to the OP... She had already handed out fliers, therefore had already benefitted from the free advertising. His point was that she now owed him money for this.
Op I am really sorry you had to learn a hard business lesson today.
To me you were both rude and you need to move on and learn from your mistake.
