I agree with everyone else. He had a good point, you hadn't paid for a stall. but there was no need to be so rude.

I would of said fine, since I'm paying you, I'll keep handing my flyers out now. Bye bye lol

People pay for stalls and advertising...How could you not realise that handing out flyers for free was wrong? I would never have the 'gall' do something like that.

Fair enough the man was rude but you were in the wrong and perhaps should have said sorry and walked off instead of engaging him.

    Who knows.

If he had said this to me, I would have just smiled at him, turned around and kept handing out the flyers. I mean, he's going to bill me so I might as well make the most out of it
Lying about what you did is not cool.. And being cheeky enough to antagonize the issue by continuing to hand out flyers.. Not smart.

What happened to admitting your wrong and dealing with the consequences?

Wow how rude. seriously does he have no people skills. Or marketing skills. If he had of approached you politely you might have paid the fee!

Read the original post. WHERE did she say she was ''continuing to hand out fliers''? she didn't. she was asking him a question to which he kept repeating the same stupid answer. IF he said that you simply can't do that, she would have understood immediately. She was obviously confused.

Let me clarify. I was quoting what misschief said the op should have done... Not what the op actually did.

His approach is stupid and ineffective. He should have just explained that you were not allowed to hand out the flyers on the premises, and that you would have to leave or pay a stallholders' fee if you persisted.

It's silly just to repeat himself obnoxiously.

There was no need to be rude but honestly I don't blame him ... If I had of been a stall holder I would have been furious and complained if someone was handing out flyers...

I have had tables at many handmade markets for my business ... Tables can cost between $40 and $250 to be there ... for an additional cost flyers I supply can be put in a bag handed out at the door.

I don't mean to be harsh but I don't think it takes to much common sense to realise that the market owner is a pricate business who has customers (stall holders) and that if you wanted to hand out your flyers you should have at least sought permission from the organizer.

While he could have been polite about it, I honestly think you were way out of line.

When a small business owner pays between $50 to $5000 for a stall at a market or expo and other people walk in and hand out flyers, it's annoying and reduces the likelihood that they will return to that market or expo in the future. Why would they when other people walk in and advertise for free like you did?

You could potentially have cost him future business with vendors, so it's understandable why he was irritable.
