    Default What a horrible man

Our local baby and kids markets was on this morn so i thought id go down for a look around and in turn hand out a few fliers for my new business.

I was handing a few out when this horrible man came up to me and said 'Thank you very much, ill send you an invoice.' I was like .

I said 'oh am i not allowed to hand these out?' To which he replied 'ill be sending you an invoice'. Again

I said, ' all you need to say to me is you cant hand those out here, you dont have to be so rude'. he said' im not being rude, ill be sending you and invoice'.

My god, enough with the invoice cr@p. I then said 'you dont have to be so rude' to which he replied 'this is my venue and ill be sending you an invoice' AGAIN!!!

I asked to have my flier back and he said 'no, this is my evidence' WTF.

In all honesty i dint think i was doing anything wrong...maybe that makes me stupid. And, if he had just said 'you cant hand those out here' i would have just apologised and walked away.

    He was so rude.

When and well, *if*, he sends an invoice, screw it up and throw it in the bin.

I can see his point even of it delivered rudely. People probably paid to have stalls at the event and promote their business so by you just rocking up and promoting yours he may of seen it as rude too!

    Hi Jennibear,
I have my own handmade childrens wear business and I go along to these sort of markets quite a lot, both as a stall holder and a customer. The markets I go along to charge you to pop your flier in a "sample bag" that they hand out at the door, so that was probably what the problem was. On the other hand he should not have been so rude and he should have poliitely told you to move on. Good luck with your business

I think there is no need to be so rude! All he had to do was explain that you can't do what u were doing!

If he sends an invoice, I would argue it at Fair Trading. Get him to prove you gave him that flyer. Someone else could've had it in their handbag and dropped it when they got something out.
    Who knows.

If he had said this to me, I would have just smiled at him, turned around and kept handing out the flyers. I mean, he's going to bill me so I might as well make the most out of it

I agree his delivery was rude but i can see his point. Everyone else there paid for advertising so why should you get it for free.

I too can see his point. I wonder if he thought you were someone he's told before not to hand out fliers? Someone he'd said 'the next time I see you, you'll be getting an invoice' that would make sense.
But really, whether he was rude or not he has every right to make you pay. Why should you get something for free with just a warning? Not really fair to the stallholders or paying advertisers.
