    1. It's considered extremely vulgar so I'm not used to hearing it, whereas you hear d!ck all the time so I think we're somewhat desensitised to it - but when you hear the c word, because it's not often, it's really in your face.
    2. I also find its used in a more insulting/ride way than other swear words.
    3. D!ck, ****/***, c0ck etc don't only describe body parts, but have other meanings e.g. a name, donkey, rooster etc. the c word has only one meaning, a rude and vulgar nickname for a vag!na. Nothing else.
    4. At least to me, the c word has a negative connotation. I could talk about d!cks and c0cks in a non-negative way, eg a friend would tell me about some guy she's been with and refer to his pen!s as such, but I've never heard the c word used in a positive way. Whenever I've heard people referring to a vag!na is a positive manner it's vag!na or p#ssy, never the c word. So I guess it's also being conditioned to the c word as a bad word.

Wow, I don't think I've ever written so many swear words in my life!
    I agree with everything 100%

Something happened to me today that made me think of this thread...

My neighbour (73 yo man) and I were chatting in the front yard. He was telling me that he was in the fire brigade for 35 years. He mentioned a friend who applied for a transfer to ACT and the job paid to send him, his family and the cow from Sydney to Canberra. After a couple of years the friend applied to come back to NSW and his application was turned down.

My perfectly pleasant, elderly neighbour then said the following - "I just had to laugh, and I said to Tommy, oh well, you're there now. No coming back c*nt. I.... I mean, person. *****. Sorry"

I couldn't help it and just about killed myself laughing!!

I find to be called a c$nt is very offensive as when i was at school the word useless was usually put before it.
I dont like swear words, but am guilty of using them when feeling strong emotions and struggling for wirds.

I heard a long time ago that the C word derived from a very long time ago, where rapists/paedophiles were put in the stocks and the C word was written above the stocks. This would tell everyone what they had done and people would torture them for all they have done.

I don't know if it's truth or not, I have heard it from a few people however and hearing that word makes me want to vomit from what I was told about it.

Regardless of if it's true or not, it worked to have me not be able to stand the word even being said near me.

I'm not offended by it, I actually drop the C bomb regularly.... Like a bogan

I don't see any difference in saying the C bomb or the F bomb.

Did you watch That 70s Show last night? Eric vandalized a local muffler shop by painting over the 'ler' on their signs...the mum didnt get it and was going on about her grey (hand) muff that she loves and how its all soft and warm.
