The only way I've TT any of my kids is naked or with undies. I find if they have a nappy on they don't bother using the toilet at all.

It is just too cold here ATM, will do that for sure from hopefully September onwards. I am not expecting him not to wet his nappy IYKWIM, I am taking a more relaxed "When he is ready approach" for now!

    Ds1 took ages.
DS2 was day and night trained in about a month at 2.5
DD1 was day and night trained in 2 days at 24 months
DS3 was night trained in 5 days and day trained within a few weeks
DD2 is 19 months and I think I could have trained her by now but she has to go into a silly cast for three months so shall wait.

I used pullups and waited until 3 with ds1...never again! Cold turkey all the way here!

Yeah I've done all mine in summer coz its so cold too. Although I've been cranking the heater and my kids insist on running around naked all the time anyway so I've been able to extend it with DS!

We went for broke with DD and took one of those intensive toilet training-type approaches: no more nappies during day or night - we just got her to wear undies & a tshirt at the time. Mind you, it was summer and we have wooden floors. Took about a week or two till she was completely trained. BUT since her little brother was born 3m ago, she's been doing little poo nuggets in her undies before she tells us she needs to use the loo and then finishes the job there. Very frustrating but I've been reassured that it's normal to regress when there are big changes at home etc.

I went cold turkey and put DS in undies at 2. He was fully trained by 3. He's now 4 and does sometimes wet the bed occasionally (big drink before bed etc)

4months with DS1, he was 18months when we started though and 2 of those months was getting him used to the potty/toilet. By the time he was 22months he was completely day trained, I didn't bother with nights until he was around 2.5yrs but he picked it up straight away.

DS2 is 2.5yrs and i'd say about 80% trained. I've been training him for around 4months but being winter it's much harder because you can't just let them run naked or even just jocks so most of his accidents happen while he is trying to take his pants off. He does all wees and poos on the toilet but cant master getting his pants of quick enough and usually ends up wetting himself.

We pretty much just took nappies away, reminded them every so often to use the toilet and they picked up on it easily. We had heaps of accidents in the first week but once they got the hang of it, it got much easier. lots of praise and a special treat on occasions gave them the motivation to keep going.
