Default Can you get ewcm and not ovulate?

I'm on CD12 and my cycles are normally 27-28 days. I've started testing using ovulation kits but they have all been negative so far. Today I've noticed EWCM - is this a sign that ovulation is coming, or can you get EWCM and still not ovulate?
    Thanks for any advice

It's usually a sign that ovulation is coming. What time of day are you using your OPKs?

I usually get 3 days of EWCM and on the 3rd day the OPK goes positive.

However it is possible to get EWCM for a day here or there throughout your cycle too. It's also possible that your body 'tries' to ovulate, doesn't and then tries again later in the cycle - but with your regular cycles I wouldn't think this is happening.

I also get it for 2-3 days before I get the surge. Stretched is right, sometimes your body is trying to ovulate but the LH levels just aren't high enough so it can come and go until you do.

Basically EWCM is from the presence of increased LH levels, not actually the egg dropping - of course they go hand in hand, the LH is what brings about the follicle letting the egg go. But as I say, if the levels aren't high enough, your body will keep trying.

I test twice a day once at lunch once in the evening bc a surge can come and go within as little as 6 hours. I buy internet cheapies so I can afford going thru about 10-15 a month lol
