Cool nano ingredients in sunscreens: what we should know

Have you been coming across stories about nano-ingredients in sunscreens?

These are in brands we all use.

The companies that make the ingredients have been marketing their products as ‘nanoparticle-free’ or ‘non-nano’. But turns out – they aren’t.

So, not only don’t we know what in the sunscreens we put on our kids, and ourselves - the sunscreen brands don’t know. Even the Cancer Council have been misled.

Who’s to blame for this scandal? Well, if the government was properly regulating sunscreen ingredients, we wouldn’t be in this mess.

Friends of the Earth has launched an
online campaign calling for the safety testing and labelling of nano-ingredients in sunscreen. Please join, and demand the Federal Government take action to protect consumer health and choice.
