Default Heartburn - What causes yours?

Heartburn and reflux are ruining the end of my pregnancy lol! Keen to hear from others what foods were triggers!

I use rennies to help when it comes but I have found the following bring it on for me so far

Tomatoes - fresh or canned/spag bol/pizza sauce etc
Lemon Chicken - must be the citrus
    Shallots
    Weetbix
Bananas (not heartburn - more reflux with these)

I had bad heart burn in the last few months too and it was anything tomato based and coke that triggered it.

    What brings mine on?
    juice
    mince
    anything bakery-ish- croissants, donuts LOL
    chocolate

    What helps?
    glass of milk (eww)
glass of eno (taken sparingly as I have high BP and its high in salt!)
    apples- these are the BEST!!

    heartburn SUCKS a big one!

I've been on ranitidine since my first trimester because it was so bad early on. Nothing I tried worked! If its really unbearable speak to your dr!

Geez typical all I want is spag bol and chocolate lol. I haven't had it the whole way through, only a little bit in the first trimester but now its terrible!
I find the rennies help alot so until that stops being effective I can manage but if I start losing sleep then I'll go see my GP. Midwife seemed to think it was great as means bubs is getting all his/her nutrients lol and everything is going as it should. bugger.

Apparently there are studies that show its more likely with hairy babies. Seeing as DH is ethnic and was born with a full head of black hair I tend to think this might be part of the cause!

The same sort of things that give you heartburn sarelou are the same sort of things that give me it.

I wanted to enjoy the last trimester of my pregnancy this time (well as much as you can lol) so I gave in and got prescription meds from my gp called pariet.

One tiny pill a day and I can eat whatever I like! So great not waking at 2am with a mouth full of acid!

Oh and I thought the heartburn/hairy baby thing was just an old wives tale lol
