My son from previous relationship has my surname, DP's son from previous relationship has his surname....

until we get married our daughters both have hyphenated surnames! lol Its a bit funny to see it all written down but the girls bring us all together IMO, when we get married the 6 of us will all share DP's surname

Probably your DP's surname I would think.

    Whichever one you like better.

My cousins all have different surnames because my aunty has been married three times. They all grew up in the same house with all these different surnames and they all seem to have turned out allright!

I told my then DP that if he didn't marry me before baby came, it would have my surname. We ended up compromising after he proposed when I was pregnant (as I didn't want to get married very pregnant) and the older 2 had his surname before I did...

i have a blended family also. my DP has 2 kids. I have 1. and we have 1 together.

My daughter has my surname. MY DPs boys obviously have his. So we agreed if DS was a boy it would get his, if a girl mine. Also i wont be changing my surname when we get married as i want it to be the same as DD.

    i like your thinking mummy.

Thank you for all the advice, its sorta a hard one to decide.. i just dont want it to be confusing, my DD is already asking why DP has a diff surname to us. It might confuse her even more if her sibling has a diff surname to her also. And i have considered hypenated surnames but dunno if it will be too much of a mouthful lol

I will keep you posted if we come to a conclusion.
All your idea about it have been wonderful
    thanks

My DD has my husband's surname but also has my surname as a middle name (I have kept my maiden name). This way she has a part of both of our families in her name without having a very long hypenated name.

I haven't had any real issues or confusion with her surname being different to mine.

DS has his fathers surname, same for DD and this DD will have her fathers surname as well.

Why break tradition?? (then again slavery WAS a tradition as well... )
