    Default Sugar in urine

So was just after some of you lovely ladies experience.
I had a call from the nurse at my GP practice this morning about my urine results. I had a MSU done last week and got asked to go and rpt it so did so yesterday. So today they ring and say that I need to make an appt to speak to the dr about the results but the only time I could have gone was Wednesday next week. I told the nurse that I was a little concerned about leaving it another week if I had a UTI as it would mean I had had it for 2 weeks untreated by the time I went in. She agreed and went and spoke to the dr and came back to tell me that is wasn't a UTI but that I had glucose in both my samples and that my gp was happy as long as I checked my BSL (I'm a nurse so she knows I can do it at work).
I'm on holidays and not going back till next week but was going past work so stopped in to do a BSL and approx 1hr post eating it was 9.0mmol. I know that it should be fasting or 2 hours post eating but it was then or not at all so I will do one on Monday at work as well.
Guess I'm just curious, did any of you have similar? What sort of reading that soon post eating would you be concerned about? I know I should probably just do the GTT earlier now but I'm really worried about a positive result as it will exclude me from giving birth at the birth centre.
Any suggestions or thoughts would be appreciated.
    TIA

It's hard to say with the one hour reading. That is usually the peak of your spike, but I don't know if it can accurately judge anything. I've had readings around 6 at 1 hour, which are around 5 at 2 hours, but I've also had a reading that's over 8 at 1 hour and back down to 5 at 2 hours. (I am supposedly a gestational diabetic because I failed the GTT and had GD last pregnancy but I've been religiously checking my levels for the past few months and never had a reading above 6.5, even when I eat whatever I want - except of course a crapload of sugar on an empty stomach like the GTT requires.)

I hope it all goes well with you. I've found pregnancy is very much about surrendering any expectations and going with the flow. It's a very difficult process in which to predict the outcome!

    Thanks for replying.
After a minor freak out I decided not to think about it at all until I can do some more accurate sugars at work on monday.
I know what you mean about best laid plans. I had a little cry to DP last night, I remember before TTC I had this idea that getting pregnant would be simple, that I would have this amazing glowing pregnancy enjoying it all then breeze through it until I had an amazing new baby at the end.
In reality we spent 8 months TTC, since 5 weeks UTD I have been more sick than ever before with constant headaches and all day nausea and vomiting. Now this. Not at all what I had imagined!!
