He's 2.5. The other day I picked him up at child care and he was at the craft table with the big girls pasting coloured card on paper having a ball, I bribed him out by saying 'we can paste special shiney paper at home' (foil- I then had a couple of 4 year olds wanting to come too, LOL) so he jabbers on about it all the way home, then i set it up for him, he smooshes his finger in the gluestick, rubs a bit on the paper, goes and puts all the foil in the bin and wanders off to play octonauts

My 2 year old DS loves it and will play with it for ages (as long as I am doing it too), so I'd say it just comes down to individual wants and likes...

Ds 2.5 won't do it at all . He will prob walk over , pick up a paint brush or touch the playdoh for a whole 30 seconds , proceed to throw it all around the room then go back to playing something else .

But of course !! My DS's attention span for the iPad is just miraculous also compared to other activities ( bar anything to do with a park or outside , you have to drag him away kicking and screaming from that )

She's 2 and loves it - I've always moved us on to a new activity before she tires of it. She would never stop...

    Her capacity - limitless

    Mine - 5 minutes

My ds is only 15 months but I've been thinking he will eventually like to spend longer on crafts than he does now... Maybe not haha

Painting he would do as long as I let him. I always get bored or have to stop him because it's lunch time.

Playdoh it depends if someone is actively playing with him. If not maybe 5 mins on it.

He will sit and cut paper with his scissors for ages!! Glueing I'm in between letting him do it himself and me doing it so he doesn't get the chance to have it as long as he wants.

Colouring in he gets bored of after 5-10 mins. Drawing he will do for longer, especially if I let him draw on the whiteboard.

The craft at playgroup we do only ever takes around 5-10 mins so it's probably a normal amount of time for them to be interested in it.

My fella is more interested in the set up and clean up. He does a dance and a jump when setting up and then when he is left to paint or colour and I am off doing something else the interest is lost. Then when packing up he starts to get upset.
Oh hey fearless how is O going. I was in feb 2010 thread. I guess you are no longer wearing your sparkly tracksuit.
