Default Any cold/flu tablets which are okay during pregnancy?

I have had the flu, and need to go to work tomorrow, but my head is still so fuzzy and I could do with a lift from some drugs, basically, to get through the day.

I am on my 9th day of bed rest, have taken a course of antibiotics (just in case it was bacterial, and not viral), am taking panadol, vitamin C, liquid iron supplements (my iron was a bit low when I had it tested a few weeks ago), a natural expectorant, have been making fresh orange and passionfruit juice to go with the iron supplements, and using vaporiser at night.

I have never been sick for so long before, and am still feeling flushed, coughing, headachey and exhausted still (I am also 33 weeks pregnant).

I will try and drag myself to the pharmacy tonight, but it's always hit and miss when you go as to what they say is safe, but if anybody has tried something magical, a recommendation would be appreciated.

My gp told me yesterday that you can take the green duro-tuss and panadol and that's pretty much it... It sucks doesn't it!

That's not what I want to hear, lol. I just want some pseudoephedrine.

My MIL suggested I put some salt in boiling water and inhale the steam for the sinuses and lungs, so will try that.

If panadol isn't strong enough as a pain killer, it's safe to take panadiene forte. Hope you feel better soon, I'm 33 weeks too - it must suck to get the flu at this stage!

I might try some codeine. It might take the edge off for going to work, and the salt stuff for the sinuses.

I have never had the flu before, and it was hideous on top of the third trimester pregnancy exhaustion.

I recently had a severe cold/flu/virus and was given something by the chemist but I can't remember what. It wasn't as strong as I would've liked but better then just panadol. Ask them to look it up. My chemist has a book they look everything up in to show me it's safe during pregnancy. Well worth making the trip to ask though. Hope you feel better soon! It's always worse when you're pregnant.
